A few months on Hacker News there was a post about Mixxx[1], an open-source DJ software. It prompted me to download it and play around. It's very cool. Despite being a complete novice, I learned a few things after a dozen hours of playing around: * I don't have a physical controller, but I can understand why people always use them. Keyboard and mouse are not fully sufficient. * The built-in key and beat... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Mixxx is excellent and has pretty wide hardware support. FYI the "limited" functionality of Rekordbox can be hardware unlocked with some Pioneer controllers. https://mixxx.org/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
There are quite a few DJs that use Ableton for DJing (or hybrid sets). I'm not necessarily saying web browsers should have defaults as opinionated as simple.css, but the default page margins, padding, text styles, headings, etc that they picked aren't particularly attractive.... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
This is great. The decision to skip CSS by depending on https://simplecss.org/ is smart - CSS is a whole other thing, and having that on top of basic HTML would be pretty intimidating. I did worry a bit about https://htmlforpeople.com/zero-to-internet-your-first-website/ - "Step 1. Create a folder on your computer" - because apparently a large number of people these days don't understand files and folders at all!... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
