Onplana is built by Devsoft Solutions, a software company focused on enterprise productivity tools.

The story starts with Microsoft's announcement that Project Online — the project management platform millions of teams have built their careers on — will retire on September 30, 2026. Microsoft's recommended replacement (the new Planner) doesn't support critical path analysis, baselines, resource management, or governance workflows. Devsoft saw a gap: millions of project managers were about to lose their tool, and nobody was building a real replacement.

Development started in 2024, with the core platform (Gantt, dependencies, resource management, AI assistant, governance) shipping in 2025. In 2026, enterprise features went live: SSO/SCIM, whiteboards, wikis, scenario planning, custom dashboards, and the .mpp migration wizard.

The guiding principle: when Project Online shuts down, every team that relied on it should have a better home waiting — with AI capabilities that Microsoft Project never had.
