Mesu.ro's answer
Engineers, technicians, and researchers who receive images or PDF drawings and need to extract real dimensions from them. PCB designers checking component placement from a photo. Mechanical engineers measuring a part from a SEM or microscope image. Architects verifying dimensions on a scanned floor plan. They know what a scale is, they measure in mm, and they need a result fast without opening a dedicated software suite.
LinuxPatch.com's answer:
The primary audience for LinuxPatch.com consists of IT administrators, DevOps professionals, and security teams managing Linux-based servers and infrastructures. These individuals are responsible for maintaining system security, ensuring uptime, and managing patching processes across various Linux distributions. Mesu.ro's answer
mesu.ro was born out of frustration. As an engineer, I kept needing to measure things in images — parts, drawings, microscope photos. Every existing tool was either a $500 desktop app, a complex scientific suite, or a basic online tool that only did distance. So I built a single HTML file that did exactly what I needed. No server, no upload, no account. Just drop an image and measure. I added PDF support, edge snap, perspective correction, multilingual interface. At some point I realized I'd accidentally built the tool that should have existed all along. I put it online. A stranger sent $5 on Ko-fi three days later. That was enough.
LinuxPatch.com's answer:
LinuxPatch.com was born out of a need for a more efficient and user-friendly solution to managing Linux patches across diverse environments. The founders, experienced in IT and cybersecurity, recognized the challenges organizations face in keeping their Linux systems up-to-date and secure. They aimed to create a tool that simplifies this process through automation, AI-powered vulnerability management, and an intuitive interface. Their goal was to empower IT teams to maintain robust security with minimal manual intervention, leading to the creation of LinuxPatch.com.
Mesu.ro's answer
A single HTML file. That's the whole stack — no framework, no build tool, no dependencies bundled locally. Everything runs in the browser. The technologies inside that file: Vanilla JavaScript — all measurement logic, canvas rendering, pan/zoom, undo, project save/load HTML5 Canvas API — drawing the image, measurements, magnifier overlay, snap indicator PDF.js (Mozilla, via CDN) — PDF parsing and high-resolution page rasterization jsPDF (via CDN) — PDF report generation client-side Canny edge detection — implemented from scratch in JS (Gaussian blur, Sobel, NMS, hysteresis, subpixel interpolation) Umami Analytics — privacy-friendly, self-hosted compatible, no cookies Formspree — feedback form backend, zero server required GitHub Pages — hosting, free, zero infrastructure to manage
LinuxPatch.com's answer:
