Good move. There's an interesting old article on the door handles here: > https://medium.com/@arunchidambaram/is-teslas-door-handle-an-over-kill-21e42756f58e In aerodynamic terms, door handles are nbd compared to side mirrors. Mirrors account for 6% of a car's aerodynamic drag. Door handles: roughly 0.2%. Basically they make no difference -- their effect is a rounding error -- and they were implemented for... - Source: Hacker News / about 14 hours ago
Guess what makes SSH multiplexing physically impossible: https://medium.com/@rviragh/chatgpt-sol-5-6-pro-still-exhibits-model-confusion-given-recursive-role-and-rulesets-70124a36951f Curious about your guessses. - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago
First of all, did you disable the calculator? This app is an amazing feat of intellect, and should be retained due to its fundamental worth of ingenuity. https://medium.com/@jnebos/the-humble-android-calculator-4f139e8b1699 Second, the kernel itself presents attack surfaces. It is important to accept updates, when they are offered. - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
>so is it a white matriarchal system oppressing men and minorities No, obviously it isn't a matriarchal system. Patriarchy can and does oppress men as well as women. If you're actually interested in something other than trying to dunk on feminism, here are some sources you can follow. You can search to find more if you want.... - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago

Do try https://diff.blog which is an aggregator of developer and engineering company blogs which I built. diff.blog tracks over 2000 blogs at the moment. I have been maintaining it for close to 5 years now. And it looks like 2025 is finally the year of RSS :). - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Personally, I feel like nothing happened to Reddit. Communities that I visit are pretty much what they were before Reddit changed its API policies. However, there's a subreddit for reddit alternatives (r/RedditAlternative) if you're curious :)) Lemmy and lobsters are the dominant ones in my mind. For HNews? Probably https://diff.blog/ would be one of the alternatives. I must say, if reddit goes dark today, I'd be... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
You could use a personal site and host it in github pages if you don't want to post your content on an existing platform. And since you are interested in computer science, having a personal blog site would add a lot of value in your career. Its not that hard to build one with Hugo Framework if you really just want to get one site up and running. Then link your blog to diff.blog for a wider audience maybe. I have... Medium even supports mirror your posts with the canonical URL pointing to the original. This means that any discovery on medium should help your SEO. I don't mind being on medium, but I want to have a canonical own that I own and that medium-haters can use. Personally I have a static site, and when I make a new post it automatically goes out to Mastodon and Medium as well as a couple of "RSS aggregators" (like... - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
