We spent the better part of 2021/2022 building a personal finance + wealth management app called, Maybe. Very full-featured, including an "Ask an Advisor" feature which connected users with an actual CFP/CFA to help them with their finances (all included in your subscription).
The business end of things didn't work out, and so we shut things down mid-2023.
We spent the better part of $1,000,000 building the app (employees + contractors, data providers/services, infrastructure, etc.).
We're now reviving the product as a fully open-source project. The goal is to let you run the app yourself, for free, and use it to manage your own finances and eventually offer a hosted version of the app for a small monthly fee.
Maybe OpenPhoneI needed a 1800 number for my business, and paying for a second phone line and getting a second phone is overpriced for what I needed. for 10 bucks a month, OpenPhone allows me to have a 1800 number right on my own cell phone through their app. So my personal calls don't get mixed up with my business calls. The app is easy to use, has a voicemail feature, and call forwarding for when I'm out and don't want to use data.
Based on our record, OpenPhone should be more popular than Maybe. It has been mentiond 11 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I'm still holding out for something that can monitor my bank account and automatically register transactions instead of me having to manually enter them. https://maybe.co/ is working on a solution for American banks. - Or use brandable names such as littlespoon.com(something about bedroom stuff), onlyluts.com(about a lut marketplace), r2d2.io(an ai assistant), maybe.co(finantial tool, exists) etc. These are definitely harder to work with, but they can massively differentiate you from existing competitors later on.
