For a guest, you have to contact people. Two resources are matchmaker.fm and r/PodcastGuestExchange. It is noticeably harder to get booked as a guest than it is to book guests for your own show. When I was doing booking for a client, I think we had around a 15% booking rate even for small shows within the niche. It's not very hard to get guests on a podcast. You're right you won't get the huge names, but you can use a service like matchmaker.fm or just find people on social media. The key is to send a custom message that makes them actually feel wanted instead of being spammed. If you do this you will get a pretty high booking rate. You can use matchmaker.fm, it's free for a certain amount of messages per month. You can also use /r/podcastguestexchange. Another message is old school email, look up aggregated lists of the shows in your niche, look up the show's website and find their contact information. The website is down at the moment, but: https://github.com/api-platform/api-platform It's Symfony based (and plays nice in that ecosystem), also allows you to describe entities via Schema org vocab, has a client generator, and comes with docker-compose and helm charts.
