I will grant my friend Valerie lives off grid and does subsistence agriculture, see https://wildhunt.org/2026/02/pagan-community-notes-week-of-february-5-2026.html but she is a high priestess even if she omits "high". Now I did get a high when I went to Litha (summer solstice) at her place that lasted for days because the experience was ethereal and otherworldly. But she's a professional who does this full... - Source: Hacker News / about 22 hours ago
I played enough video games to be thoroughly steeped in legends about fox spirits from the Sinosphere, almost three years ago I felt I received an invitation that I was a little afraid of. a year and a half ago I read https://www.amazon.com/dp/0231133383 and found out that people really do it. It took me about 300 days to contract with a community of foxes and started "going out as a fox". At first I didn't... - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
Iโm thinking a lot about how older applications are often better than new for reasons like this. Sometimes I log into my big Windows machine at home with RDP from out of the house to post photos to my socials, like https://mastodon.social/@UP8 and with a folder with a few hundred images in it is is awkward to use the official file chooser dialog because it is based on modern UI toolkits and practices which are... - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
I recently talked to Howard [1] about lies he was saying about Sanakirja, an LMDB-inspired disk allocator. That's always the same arguments: C is better than Rust for X, Y or Z reasons. While I reported a segfault just two weeks earlier... [2]. I love LMDB, we use it in Meilisearch (second most stared search engine on GitHub) [3] for about 7 years now. The main issues were related to write speed but we do a... - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
Good intentions, but these days there's an even bigger threat: https://mastodon.social/@sundogplanets/115840278905803451 https://mastodon.social/@sundogplanets/116796122687129600 https://www.theregister.com/offbeat/2026/03/31/starlink-sprays-debris-after-another-satellite-anomaly/5220257. - Source: Hacker News / 14 days ago
I find that reflecting on my experiences and going out of my way to really analyze the pitfalls and things done correctly helps a lot. I normally use coggle.it to mind map the whole experience overview and then which elements of the project seemed to be improvements and which parts where potentially poorly executed. I often find a lot more nuance this way than just scanning over it in my head. Source: about 3 years ago
In any case, any software that can create a visualization of a tree-like diagram will do the job. I'd recommend https://coggle.it/. Source: almost 4 years ago
I have spent more time than I'd like to admit researching the different programs out there. Mindmup , Coggle, and Mindmesiter came the closest, but definitely not perfect. These are some of the features I am looking for:. Source: almost 4 years ago
Did it using https://coggle.it .. I have mindmaps self-hosted too but I feel this is much easier on the eye. Source: almost 4 years ago
Ah, because I found this mapping website called coggle.it and I was just wondering what if we made a map of including all the members of the fandom menace to see how big and how many members or connections they have, that's all really. Source: about 4 years ago
