  • Potential Performance Issues
Users may experience lag or performance issues, especially in sessions with many participants or complex drawings, which may impede the creative process.
  • Dependence on Internet Connection
Being a web-based tool, it requires a stable internet connection for optimal performance, which can be a drawback for users with unreliable access.
  • Privacy Concerns
While collaboration is a key feature, it may raise privacy concerns for users who prefer to work alone or need to protect proprietary or sensitive artwork.

Possible disadvantages of Codictionary

  • Limited Content Depth
As a relatively niche platform, Codictionary may not have the breadth or depth of content found on more established resources like Stack Overflow, MDN, or official documentation sites.
  • Small Community
The platform has a smaller user base compared to major developer communities, which means fewer contributions, slower updates, and potentially less peer review of content accuracy.
  • Limited Advanced Topics
The platform may focus more on basic definitions and terminology, potentially lacking in-depth coverage of advanced programming concepts, design patterns, or complex technical topics.
  • Potential for Outdated Information
With a smaller community maintaining content, some entries may become outdated as programming languages and technologies evolve, without timely updates to reflect current best practices.
  • Less Recognized Platform
Being a lesser-known tool in the developer ecosystem, Codictionary may not be widely recognized or trusted as an authoritative source compared to well-established documentation and reference sites.

    Too Laggy

a decent amount of drawing tools available and a friendly community although the website is down too often and fails to load properly alot which can be frustrating when mid way through a drawing.

Although I did found out malmal.io works on the computer. Can anyone verify it works on their ipad? Im getting mine tomorrow. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Those making $500/month on side projects in 2023 – Show and tell
I made collaborative painting apps, https://hellopaint.io and https://malmal.io. In the best months I made 800€+ in ad revenue from malmal but currently it's a lot less. I think there's potential to make a lot more though, although I'd like to stop showing ads and switch to some more predictable income model. I do have a patreon but it only brings in ~100€ per month. I could promote it more though. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
  • tldraw - a tiny little drawing app, just released!
This is interesting. The idea remind me of malmal.io but the execution is a bit cleaner with less functions. This is basically a whiteboard right? Source: almost 5 years ago
  • Over the past 2 months, i went to drew this during my school holiday.
Eventually now I learn alot but still had not really tried drawing in photoshop(i think its hard). But I am pretty sure the drawing output would be 10 times better as malmal.io is still currently on beta, there's no layering, smudge, smooth tools etc. So we all have to come out with creative idea to deal with the shading :D.
