Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Loqua and TalkNotes.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Loqua's answer

Loqua is built for people who want more than accurate dictation. You can speak naturally, edit text without retyping prompts, ask about what’s already on your screen, translate while speaking, listen to selected content, and use voice to handle everyday workflows. It works across Mac and Windows, with some desktop action capabilities currently available on Mac.

What's the story behind your product?

Loqua's answer

We scratched our own itch. As developers and product managers, typing more than 10,000 words a day was destroying our wrists and causing severe RSI. Keyboards became our enemy. We tried existing dictation tools, but they were too dumb—they transcribed our stutters and ruined our formatting. We needed a tool that actually understood what we meant, not just what we sounded like. So, we built Loqua to let us work at the speed of thought, hands-free.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Loqua's answer

Loqua is currently used by individual professionals, developers, founders, marketers, writers, and other knowledge workers.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Loqua's answer

Loqua is built for people who spend a large part of their day writing, thinking, communicating, or working across desktop apps. Typical users include developers, product managers, founders, marketers, writers, creators, researchers, and other knowledge workers who want to reduce typing and context switching. It is also useful for users who prefer voice-first workflows or want to listen to content instead of staying focused on the screen.

What makes your product unique?

Loqua's answer

Loqua starts with natural voice typing, but goes beyond transcription. It can clean and structure what you say, edit existing text by voice, understand what’s on your screen, read content aloud, and help move everyday work forward with voice. Its multimodal model is designed to preserve intent and context, not just convert speech into text.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Loqua's answer

Loqua is built around proprietary multimodal speech and language models, combining automatic speech recognition, natural language understanding, contextual text generation, screen understanding, text-to-speech, and desktop workflow integrations.
