OpenAI Codex CLIOpenAI Codex CLI might be a bit more popular than Linode. We know about 34 links to it since March 2021 and only 24 links to Linode. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I have an 11 GB VPS with Windows on it, and itโs running perfectly. I 100% recommend this hosting, because of itโs pricing and support. I give $8.25 a month for an 11 GB VPS. Which would cost up to $55 a month on popular hosting providers like, Linode, Vultr, and Digital Ocean. Source: about 4 years ago
Anyone that hosts a server using the cloud provider linode.com Do you encounter any limits regarding the CPU speed? Source: about 4 years ago
One of my best recommendations is to spin up a linux server in the cloud, you can do it for free for a few months from linode.com for example. Setting up an online server for a game you like playing can also be a rewarding learning experience for networking and Linux in general. Source: about 4 years ago
Then you can buy a VPS from linode.com, katapult.io, contabo.com or hetzner.cloud, I'd recommend a 4gb VPS, and in order to run, it has to be over 2gb. For the OS, choose AlmaLinux or a supported version of CentOS. Source: about 4 years ago
Use VPS, don't use shared web hosting when you generate content as it tends to use lots of resources like RAM, CPU %, and storage. I'd recommend hetzner.com, contabo.com, or linode.com. Source: about 4 years ago
Test-drive it with Pro (5x or 20x) for a month. Download the Codex CLI client from https://github.com/openai/codex and auth it in the browser via the URL it provides. Set the model to 5.6-Sol and effort to max. - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
OpenAI doesn't require that; only Anthropic does. OpenAI's harness is fully open source[1], and (AFAIK) doesn't come with any kind of signed-build request integrity verification like Claude does. And by that logic, if you're allowed to use their API with a fork of Codex that you yourself compiled, there's nothing stopping you from making some other harness act like such a fork. The next obvious step was installing Codex. Not only for working on projects, but also for managing the server itself. - Source: dev.to / 11 days ago
Codex is open source https://github.com/openai/codex/ it's definitely geared towards openai but it is completely open source. - Source: Hacker News / 11 days ago
Well, everyone's bashing on OpenAI as well they should, but just a reminder, unlike Claude Code, Codex is officially available to customize here: https://github.com/openai/codex It's fairly easy to patch. - Source: Hacker News / 20 days ago
