Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing LeetCode and Softrun.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Softrun's answer:

Softrun is designed for people preparing material they will deliver aloud: founders rehearsing investor pitches, sales professionals refining presentations, speakers preparing talks, comedians testing stand-up sets, and anyone writing a personal or occasion speech. It is useful when you have a draft and want structured feedback before rehearsing with real people.

What makes your product unique?

Softrun's answer:

Softrun lets you rehearse spoken material with a configurable AI audience. You can tailor the room by age, occupation, interests and tone, then see individual persona reactions alongside a combined feedback report. Reuse an audience across drafts to explore how changes affect the simulated response. It supports pitches, speeches and stand-up material, while the iPhone and Android apps add recording and feedback on pace, pauses and filler words. The reactions are a tool for revision, not a prediction of how a real audience will respond.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Softrun's answer:

Softrun is a good fit if you want to examine a script from several audience perspectives and refine it over repeated rehearsals. You can choose who is in the simulated room, adjust its tone and reuse it across drafts. Individual reactions help you explore where a message may engage, confuse or lose attention. Web and mobile share the same account, and mobile recording adds delivery feedback. A free plan provides three runs per month with up to ten personas, so you can try the workflow before choosing a paid plan.

What's the story behind your product?

Softrun's answer:

The idea for Softrun came from my experience as a Toastmasters member. I wanted software that could give me feedback on a speech before I practised it in front of people at a Toastmasters meeting. I built Softrun to make that preparation easier: a place to rehearse, get feedback and refine a speech before delivering it to a real audience.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Softrun's answer:

The web application is built with Node.js and Express, with Pug templates, Alpine.js and HTMX for the interface. MongoDB and Mongoose handle data storage. OpenAI powers audience generation, simulated reactions and speech transcription, while Stripe handles web subscriptions.
