  • Family Calendar
Month, week, day or agenda. Events coloured by member, locations, reminders and iCal export to Google or Apple.
  • Simplified Git Interface
CommitCat aims to provide a user-friendly graphical interface for Git, making version control more accessible to developers who may find the command line intimidating or cumbersome.
  • Free and Open Source
CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.
  • Lightweight Application
CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

It may serve niche use cases but lacks the widespread validation seen in more established developer tools.

Why this product is good

  • Listed on F6S, a platform for startups, which can indicate early-stage or niche tooling
  • May offer specific functionality related to commit tracking or Git workflow management
  • Could provide value for small teams or individual developers looking for lightweight solutions
  • Limited market presence means less community support, documentation, or third-party reviews
  • Unclear long-term support or update frequency given its low profile

Recommended for

  • Developers or teams willing to experiment with lesser-known or early-stage tools
  • Startups or indie hackers looking for niche commit-related utilities
  • Users who prioritize trying new tools over established, well-reviewed alternatives
  • Not recommended for enterprises or teams needing proven, well-supported solutions with strong community backing

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Kotidy and CommitCat.

What makes your product unique?

Kotidy's answer

Kotidy puts everything that keeps a home running in one shared app: real-time shopping lists, recipes and weekly meal plans, projects, recurring chores and a family calendar. Chores can rotate automatically between members, and a fairness dashboard weighted by difficulty shows who carries what, with no ranking. One subscription covers the whole household with unlimited members. It works on Android, iOS and the web, offers home screen widgets, and is available in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

What's the story behind your product?

Kotidy's answer

Kotidy started in spring 2026 as a side project for my own household: my partner and I needed a simple way to coordinate groceries, share chores fairly, follow home projects and keep track of our baby's appointments. It began as a web app, grew into native Android and iOS apps published in August 2026, and is now self-hosted in France.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Kotidy's answer

  • Kotidy is a consumer app: its users are individual households (couples, families and roommates), not companies
  • We don't publish names of the households using it

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Kotidy's answer

Most households end up with one app for groceries, another for the calendar, a to-do app only one person opens, and a whiteboard on the fridge. Kotidy replaces all of them with a single space everyone shares, synced instantly: tick an item at the supermarket and it is ticked for everyone. The free plan has no time limit, no card and no cap on members. Premium costs €2.99/month or €24.99/year for the whole household, not per person. Mixed iPhone and Android households can use it together, and household data is hosted in France and never sold.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Kotidy's answer

Couples and families, with or without children, who share the day-to-day running of a home: groceries, chores, household projects and schedules. It also suits roommates. The common thread is people who want to share the mental load instead of carrying it alone.
