Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing KoboSync and Make.com.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

KoboSync's answer

  • High-Volume Instagram & WhatsApp Retail Vendors
  • Digital Course Creators & Digital Product Sellers on Selar & Paystack
  • SaaS founders
  • Serviced Apartment & Co-Working Space Operators
  • E-Commerce Store Owners using Paystack, Flutterwave, and Monnify

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

KoboSync's answer

Global automation tools like Zapier or A2X are priced in fluctuating USD, treat African payment rails as an afterthought, and do not handle local fee structures or VAT. Paystack and Flutterwave have basic dashboards, but they don't talk to each other, don't connect to Google Sheets or accounting software natively, and don't do any financial intelligence, they just show you raw numbers. KoboSync does all of that, and offers flat, predictable Naira pricing, native multi-gateway support out of the box, automatic duplicate protection, and direct Google Merchant Center catalog integration.

What makes your product unique?

KoboSync's answer

KoboSync goes beyond traditional passive recording tools by combining back-office ledger reconciliation with front-office revenue generation. It natively calculates exact Nigerian processor fees (Paystack, Flutterwave, Monnify), isolates 7.5% VAT for FIRS compliance, blocks duplicate webhook entries, and automatically syncs inventory to Google Shopping to drive free organic search traffic.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

KoboSync's answer

High-volume Nigerian merchants, Instagram & WhatsApp retail vendors, digital product creators on Selar and Paystack, serviced space managers, and growing B2B SMEs requiring real-time ledger accuracy and tax compliance.

What's the story behind your product?

KoboSync's answer

KoboSync was born out of seeing African business owners spend late nights manually copy-pasting SMS bank alerts into spreadsheets. The idea started simple: sync Paystack payments to a Google Sheet automatically, so merchants stop manually copying transaction data. But halfway through building it, I realized the real problem wasn't the syncing. It was that nobody could see their actual profit.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

KoboSync's answer

KoboSync is a full-stack web application built on Next.js, Node.js and TypeScript, with a PostgreSQL database managed through Drizzle ORM, hosted on Supabase. The backend processes real-time webhook events from Paystack, Flutterwave, and Monnify, verifying each one cryptographically using HMAC SHA-512 signature validation before any data is touched.

From there, the platform's processing pipeline handles Kobo-to-Naira conversion, fee calculation using each gateway's actual fee structure, deduplication checks, PDF invoice generation, file storage on Cloudflare R2, and parallel delivery via email through Resend and WhatsApp through the Meta Business Cloud API. All data is written to the merchant's connected Google Sheets in real time via the Google Sheets REST API, and synced to Xero or QuickBooks for merchants using those platforms.
