In their own words, as submitted to SaaSHub.

Knowess is a free, browser-based number deduction game where you crack a secret code using logical thinking and feedback clues. Most number games are either too simple or hide their rules behind complexity. Knowess strips it back to pure logic: guess the secret number, read the feedback,...

As answered by people managing Knowess and Lichess.
Knowess's answer
Knowess started as a personal project to explore the design space of constraint-based number puzzles. The classic Mastermind format felt underrepresented in modern web games — most implementations are visually dated or buried in ads. The goal was to build a clean, fast, and genuinely replayable version with more player control over the rules.
Knowess's answer
Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, React, deployed on Vercel.
Knowess's answer
Knowess is a free-to-play game with no paying customers. It serves individual players directly — no B2B customers or enterprise accounts.
Knowess's answer
Knowess offers two distinct feedback modes — Any Match and Exact Match — that go beyond the standard Bulls & Cows formula. Each mode requires a fundamentally different deduction strategy, and players can also adjust the number length (3–10 digits) and toggle repeated digits. The Daily Challenge adds a fresh puzzle every day with structured hint clues unique to each session.
Knowess's answer
Most number deduction games lock you into one feedback style. Knowess lets you choose your mode, set your difficulty, and jump straight into play — no account, no download, no ads cluttering the interface. It's designed around pure logical deduction with a clean, distraction-free UI.
Knowess's answer
Logic puzzle enthusiasts, casual brain-training players, and anyone who enjoys deduction-based games like Wordle, Mastermind, or Sudoku. The adjustable difficulty makes it accessible to beginners while the harder configurations (10 digits, repeats enabled) appeal to experienced puzzle solvers.

Hi HN! I build this project to explore an idea I got in mind for a long time : Is transformer a suitable architecture for a chess bot? I built a small model (11M parameters) and trained it on human games (Elite Lichess DB). Model alone... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
Lichess is incredibly well optimized [0] (and an amazing public service). I'm sure that this is very cost effective for TTT, so a win-win. [0] https://lichess.org/@/revoof/blog/optimizing-the-tablebase-server/MetV0ZQd. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
