Analysis of ThreadMine.dev

Overall verdict

  • Typing Fast Is About Latency, Not Throughput
Yeah! Whilst usually a side show to real events there's a bunch of virtual and in person events. Two years there was an event in the UK dedicated to typing. Last year the US. Virtual tournaments happen frequently throughout the year. The most famous one is likely the yearly event hosted by Keymash[0]. Octahedron is also a famous player in the scene. • Is stop on error (letter) cheating?
I believe that the much better option is stop on word which makes Monkeytype behave like Typeracer or Keymash in that you have to use Backspace or Ctrl+Backspace to correct your mistakes before progressing to the next word. Funnily enough, that's also how stuff works in the real world outside of typing websites. Source: about 3 years ago
  • What websites are best for getting better at typing?
There are sites that will let you "race" directly against one or more other people whilst typing quotes or random words like play.typeracer.com nitrotype.com or keymash.io. Source: about 3 years ago
