Yeah! Whilst usually a side show to real events there's a bunch of virtual and in person events. Two years there was an event in the UK dedicated to typing. Last year the US. Virtual tournaments happen frequently throughout the year. The most famous one is likely the yearly event hosted by Keymash[0]. Octahedron is also a famous player in the scene. He hosts a Discord server for proficient typists and... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Keymash: A more competitive oriented typing website that has both random word and actual paragraph practices. Source: 10 months ago
Compare problemwords.com with zentype.app with keymash.io with typelit.io. Source: 11 months ago
I believe that the much better option is stop on word which makes Monkeytype behave like Typeracer or Keymash in that you have to use Backspace or Ctrl+Backspace to correct your mistakes before progressing to the next word. Funnily enough, that's also how stuff works in the real world outside of typing websites. Source: 11 months ago
There are sites that will let you "race" directly against one or more other people whilst typing quotes or random words like play.typeracer.com nitrotype.com or keymash.io. Source: 12 months ago
Typeracer and Keymash are both competitive typing sites. Sites where you race people head-to-head in real time whilst typing identical content. Source: about 1 year ago
Back then I learnt it in typing class in school when I was 12 years old. We used a really outdated typing software to practice it. It started something like this: jjjj ffff jjjj ffff jfjf fjfj etc., then it adds more letters as you go on. Sites like typingclub.com or typing.com are better for starting out. Then once you're comfortable with all the letters you can use typeracer.com, keymash.io, nitrotype.com or... Source: over 1 year ago
English 1k is also used on many other typing sites across the internet typetest.io (as the advanced option), keymash.io (as the dictionary setting), typings.gg (as English1000) and keybr.com (as the Typing Test option). Source: over 1 year ago
Accuracy settings - Any setting that punishes you for poor accuracy. Here I'm thinking of settings like Monkeytype's Master or Expert level difficulty, Stop on word setting, or Typeracer's sudden death setting. Typeracer and Keymash both have Stop on word applied by default so you can escape it, which I think is great. That way you can't be fast unless you're accurate. You could always do what many people do on... Source: almost 2 years ago
I would recommend switching to english 1k because it helps expand your burst typing volcabulary. BTW that's what they use in competitions and most paragraphs in keymash.io or nitrotype.com so that's a nice bonus. Source: about 2 years ago
This is why Typeracer and https://keymash.io/ are so good, because errors are punished and that encourages everyone to type more accurately. Source: about 2 years ago
Keymash.io is probably my current favourite. Source: about 2 years ago

I got this problem a month ago. Now I'm averaging at 95 to 100 wpm on TypeRacer and around 90 wpm on Keymash. Source: about 2 years ago
My recommendation is to take about 10 tests on each of play.typeracer.com and keymash.io plus a few pages on typelit.io and average out the result. Source: about 2 years ago
I'm betting that my suggestion to activate Stop on word (and leave it on permanently) is what's slowing you and many other people down. But that's fine. Pretty much every other decent typing site has that setting activated by default and there's no option to turn it off. Keymash, Typeracer, Key Hero, and Problem Words. Source: about 2 years ago
I don't understand why you don't host something on keymash.io because that's probably the best platform available for doing this kind of thing. Source: about 2 years ago
Websites like https://keymash.io/ and https://problemwords.com/ and https://play.typeracer.com/ all force you to correct your errors. Source: about 2 years ago
Other than that I would say that the other thing which really helps is having a default setting which forces people to use the backspace key to correct any errors that they make. If you go onto Keymash you will see what I mean. Source: about 2 years ago
The reason why Typeracer is better for improving accuracy is because it has the Stop on word setting that I mention in my response to the OP elsewhere in this thread, activated by default for everybody and there is no way of turning it off. It's the same with https://keyma.sh/. It's the single best thing about both websites. It means that the number one thing that will hold your speed back is poor accuracy. Source: about 2 years ago
I prefer keyma.sh over typeracer but yeah you don't really need anything but these 3. Source: about 2 years ago
