Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Jackmail and DevDome.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

DevDome's answer:

WordPress plugins in PHP (GPL, on WordPress.org, exposing the WordPress Abilities API for AI agents), a hosted analytics service on Cloudflare Workers with a public REST Stats API and an MCP server, and a web dashboard.

What's the story behind your product?

DevDome's answer:

DevDome started from running our own WordPress sites: Google Analytics numbers were half bots, every privacy tool cost a subscription per site, and keeping sites healthy meant five different plugins from five vendors. So we built one account that counts real humans, shows the bots separately, watches site health, and ships the maintenance plugins for free on WordPress.org, each built as the free alternative to the paid incumbent in its category.

What makes your product unique?

DevDome's answer:

DevDome shows real humans only. Bots and AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and 100+ more) are detected and shown as their own line instead of inflating your visits, and it is cookieless by default, so there is no consent banner. Site health (uptime, Lighthouse, security) sits next to the traffic under one account, a public Stats API and an MCP server let AI agents read the numbers, and six free WordPress.org plugins come with it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

DevDome's answer:

  • Plausible and Fathom charge a subscription for every site; DevDome has a free plan and no per-site consent hassle.
  • Google Analytics needs cookies and a consent banner in the EU; DevDome is cookieless and GDPR-friendly out of the box.
  • Matomo self-hosted needs your own server and database; DevDome stores nothing in your WordPress database and keeps the site fast.
  • None of them split bots and AI crawlers from humans; DevDome does, and shows AI referral traffic too.
  • The WordPress plugins (malware scanner, link monitor, redirects, media cleaner, affiliate links) are free alternatives to Wordfence, Broken Link Checker, Redirection, Media Cleaner Pro and AAWP.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

DevDome's answer:

WordPress site owners, bloggers, small agencies and freelancers who run one or many WordPress sites and want honest visitor numbers without consent banners, plus the basic site hygiene (uptime, malware, broken links, redirects) in the same place. Any other website can use the analytics through one script tag.
