IPGeolocation.io is a complete IP intelligence platform that helps businesses turn any IPv4 or IPv6 address into accurate location, network, security, and user context data. Its IP Location API provides real-time country, city, state or province, ZIP/postal code, latitude and longitude, timezone, current local time, currency, language, country calling code, ISP, company, network, and domain-related details in developer-friendly JSON and XML formats over HTTPS.
Beyond basic IP geolocation, IPGeolocation.io offers a growing suite of APIs for fraud prevention, cybersecurity, personalization, analytics, compliance, and network intelligence. The platform includes an ASN API for autonomous system, route, organization, peer, upstream, and downstream data; an IP Security API for VPN, proxy, Tor, relay, bot, spam, cloud provider, anonymous traffic, known attacker, and threat score detection; and an Abuse Contact API to retrieve abuse reporting contacts for suspicious IP ranges.
IPGeolocation.io also supports live VPN and proxy detection, helping businesses identify anonymized traffic during signups, logins, payments, live chats, referral programs, and other high-risk user actions. Additional APIs include Timezone API, Astronomy API, User-Agent API, bulk IP lookup, hostname and domain lookup, and downloadable IP intelligence databases for teams that need high-volume enrichment or offline processing.
With free and paid plans, IPGeolocation.io is suitable for developers, SaaS platforms, cybersecurity teams, adtech companies, ecommerce businesses, fintech apps, and enterprises that need reliable IP geolocation, threat intelligence, abuse detection, ASN data, and real-time decisioning from a single platform.
Packagecloud is a cloud-based package repository that allows its users to host npm, python, rubygem, apt, Java/Maven, and yum repositories without having to configure anything first. Being a cloud-based solution, it also allows one to distribute various software packages in a uniform, scalable, and dependable manner without investing in infrastructure.
Regardless of the programming language or OS, you can keep all of the packages that you need to be deployed across your organizationโs workstations in one repo. Then, without owning any of the infrastructure required, you may securely and efficiently distribute packages to your devices.

Getting a user's location from their IP should be possible with something like this https://ipgeolocation.io/ (free for up to 1000 requests per day which my puny website will never get). Latitude + longitude data from this service could be used to place the location dot accurately on the globe, although I'd have to look more into the math aspect of that before. This will probably be one of the harder parts to... Source: almost 4 years ago

Forcing the config can be don manually by modifying the config files that points to different repos in /etc/apt/sources.list.d, or for packages on packagecloud.io, you can use the method that I describe. The latter works because packagecloud.io has a robust strip to create config files based on the detected operating systems or you can force a certain operating system/dist as shown above. The error you are seeing is because you probably ran one of the steps that creates a configuration in your system that points to packagecloud.io, so that your system can retrieve packages from https://packagecloud.io/cs50/repo. However since there are no Debian bookworm packages there, you are seeing the error. Source: over 3 years ago
