For the architectural documentation like this one, the C4 Model [0] is a much better fit than UML - primarily because it's less rigid in notation and modeling components. And in terms of tooling, I find IcePanel [1] to have the right combination of flexibility and simplicity. [0] https://c4model.com/ [1] https://icepanel.io/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

I use UML quite a bit but it's never really what I'm after, somnething more modern and fluid and gui driven that more people can use. Icepanel [1] looks really cool but I haven't tested it and I'm not sure it really fits my use case. It seems like it's mostly for api driven rpc/grpc/rest services when I kind of want to use it to visualize backend/infra/terraform sort of things. Might be interesting to you. Gcloud/command-line - Finally, for those more inclined to using the command-line, you can enable APIs with a single command in the Cloud Shell or locally on your computer if you installed the Cloud SDK (which includes the gcloud command-line tool [CLI]) and initialized its use. If this is you, issue the following command to enable all three APIs: gcloud services enable geocoding-backend.googleapis.com... - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
