Hibernate ORM features and specs

  • Abstraction
Hibernate provides a high level of abstraction around database operations, which allows developers to focus on business logic rather than database interactions. This leads to reduced boilerplate code and improved productivity.
  • Automatic Schema Generation
It offers the ability to automatically generate database schemas based on the entity mappings, which simplifies the process of setting up and maintaining the database schema.
  • Caching
Hibernate includes a robust caching mechanism which can significantly improve application performance by reducing the number of database queries needed.
  • Lazy Loading
Hibernate supports lazy loading, meaning that data is only fetched from the database when it is actually needed, which can help optimize performance and reduce unnecessary data retrieval.
  • Database Independence
With Hibernate, applications can be more easily adapted to work with different underlying databases, as it abstracts away vendor-specific SQL code, promoting portability.

Possible disadvantages of Hibernate ORM

  • Complexity
Hibernate can introduce additional complexity, especially for developers unfamiliar with ORM concepts, requiring a steep learning curve to effectively implement and manage.
  • Performance Overhead
The abstraction layer Hibernate provides can introduce some performance overhead compared to native SQL, particularly in complex queries requiring fine-tuned optimization.
  • Debugging and Profiling Challenges
Since Hibernate abstracts the database interactions, it can make it more difficult to debug and profile applications, particularly in relation to understanding and optimizing the generated SQL queries.
  • Memory Consumption
The use of caching and session management within Hibernate can result in increased memory consumption, which needs careful management, particularly in large-scale applications.
  • Schema Update Limitations
Automatic schema generation has its limits, and complex database updates or custom table designs might require manual intervention, limiting the automation benefits.

Tabidoo features and specs

  • User-Friendly Interface
Tabidoo provides an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface that makes it accessible for users without technical backgrounds.
  • Customizable
Allows users to customize fields, forms, and workflows to suit their specific business needs.
  • Data Management
Efficiently manages and organizes data, providing tools for data import, export, and detailed reporting.
  • Collaboration
Facilitates team collaboration by allowing multiple users to access and work on the data simultaneously.
  • Integration
Offers integration capabilities with various external applications and APIs, enhancing its functionality.

Tabidoo is an optimal choice for everyone, who knows how to run his business and just needs an affordable yet very good tool (IT System) to support the business. With Tabidoo, you are not forced to change the process, you are changing the system to support the process.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Tabidoo's answer:

Our main audience includes small to medium-sized businesses focused on growth, looking to improve their management practices. These businesses are motivated to leave behind outdated methods like paper and spreadsheets in favor of a single, integrated system. They value having all their data in one place, avoiding the complexity of using different systems for different tasks. Our platform caters to those seeking a simple, all-in-one solution to streamline their operations.

What's the story behind your product?

Tabidoo's answer:

In 2016, a team of three developers, all former team leaders, faced a new project with many mundane tasks. They decided to take a different approach to make the development process more efficient and reusable for future projects. This decision came well before the rise of the LowCode/NoCode movement.

After finishing their first project, they saw the potential of their platform and decided to offer it to both developers and non-developers. That's how Tabidoo was created.

    Easy data management with Tabidoo

Tabidoo has really made managing data easier for me. We use it to keep track of customer contacts and their order history, which is straightforward. What I like the most is that I can quickly tweak forms and create reports as needed... It's user-friendly, which is great for everyone - from tech-savvy users to those who are less experienced. It's also super flexible, handling small and large datasets with ease. Overall, it's been smooth sailing with Tabidoo, and I'd definitely recommend it.

    Game-Changer for Non-Techies

I've been using Tabidoo for a while now, and I'm blown away by its capabilities! For someone with no or limited coding experience, this platform has truly been a game-changer.

Firstly, the user interface is intuitive and user-friendly. I was able to dive right in and start building without any prior training. The drag-and-drop functionality makes it a breeze to create apps, and workflows. Absolutely perfect for the smaller companies, since entry level is quite easy and also the price is great! You can start with the free version and upgrade anytime!

    Better than I imagined ๐Ÿ‘Œ

We switched to Tabidoo when our team started to expand. The price-solution ratio/quality and practicality of processing is absolutely great from my point of view. We don't pay for users and it is the biggest benefit, I think.

  • MediatR and where to put the command classes
This is so close to perfection. For me though application shouldn't have a coupling with entity framework. If you wanted to switch out EF to use hibernate (https://hibernate.org/orm/)? you're application is coupled to EF and would require a lot more work. Source: over 3 years ago
