HeirClaim primarily serves individual US consumers who suspect they may have unclaimed money waiting in a state treasury. This includes:

HeirClaim is the only consumer-facing service that combines a free 50-state unclaimed-property search with AI-generated state-specific claim documents in one place. Most competitors either charge to search (then up-sell document help) or are state-by-state government portals that don't talk to each other. HeirClaim covers all 50 states plus DC simultaneously, generates the actual claim affidavits and cover letters automatically, and offers a Full Service tier where we file claims on the customer's behalf with no upfront cost.

Three reasons:

  1. Transparent pricing. Document Preparation is a flat fee starting at $29 with no subscription. Full Service is contingency-based with no recovery meaning no fee, capped at the state regulatory maximum.

  2. All 50 states in one search. Competitors typically focus on a single state portal or charge per state. HeirClaim searches every US state treasury database simultaneously with automatic name-variation matching for maiden names, hyphens, and common misspellings.

  3. AI-generated state-specific paperwork. Each state has its own affidavit format, cover letter requirements, and small-estate thresholds. HeirClaim generates the correct documents automatically based on the user's situation and the state's current requirements.

What's the story behind your product?

HeirClaim's answer

HeirClaim was founded after [the founder discovered a relative had unclaimed property held by a state treasury that no one in the family knew about / a personal experience helping family recover forgotten assets]. The process of finding the money was easy thanks to free state databases, but actually claiming it required navigating state-specific paperwork, affidavits, and probate documents that varied dramatically from state to state.

HeirClaim was built to solve the second half of that problem. Anyone can search NAUPA's missing-money database for free. The hard part is turning a search hit into actual recovered cash. HeirClaim automates the document preparation and offers a contingency-based filing service for people who would rather not handle the paperwork themselves.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Next.js 16 App Router on Vercel, TypeScript, Supabase (PostgreSQL plus authentication and row-level security), Stripe for payments and subscriptions, Resend for transactional email, and AI document generation for state-specific claim affidavits and cover letters.
