REQO is a screen recorder and video editor that runs entirely in the browser. There is nothing to install, no extension and no plugin: open a tab, record, edit, and share.
Recording. Capture your screen, camera and system audio, together or separately. Because it runs in the browser it records tab audio directly, which matters for demos, tutorials and anything playing sound on screen.
Editing by transcript. Recordings open straight into a full editor. Work on a multi-track timeline with cut, trim, split and rearrange, or edit the transcript instead: delete a sentence of text and the matching video goes with it. It is the fastest way to strip filler out of a talking-head take.
Subtitles. Every recording is transcribed automatically. Subtitles can be burned into the export or served as a separate VTT file.
Sharing. Every export gets a public share URL, so sending a recording means sending a link rather than uploading a file.
Teams. Team workspaces with role-based access keep shared recordings and projects in one place.
Pricing. The free tier has no recording time limit and includes the full editor; free exports carry a watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark and unlock higher export quality.

REQOREQO's answer:
REQO does the whole job in one browser tab. It records your screen, camera and system audio, then opens straight into a real editor rather than a trimmer: a multi-track timeline, plus transcript editing where deleting a sentence of text removes the matching video with it.
Subtitles are generated automatically and can be burned into the export or served as a separate VTT file, and every export gets a public share URL, so sending a recording means sending a link rather than uploading a file.
There is nothing to install, no extension and no plugin, so it works on a locked-down work machine as easily as your own.
REQO's answer:
Three practical reasons.
The free tier is genuinely usable. There is no recording time limit and you get the complete editor, not a cut-down trimmer. Free exports carry a small REQO badge, and that is the only catch.
One paid tier, not a ladder. Pro is $19 a month. It removes the badge, adds unlimited team members and unlocks AI Studio. There is no per-seat arithmetic and no feature you later discover is three tiers up.
Nothing to install. Being entirely browser-based means you can record on a locked-down work laptop, a borrowed machine or a Chromebook. Transcript editing then handles the slow part: delete the filler words from the text and the video cuts itself.
REQO's answer:
People who record their screen or themselves often enough that editing time actually matters, but who do not want to run a desktop editor to deal with it.
It suits teams and individuals equally. Shared workspaces with role-based access keep a company's recordings in one library, while a solo user can record, edit and share without installing anything.
REQO's answer:
REQO is a Next.js and React application written in TypeScript and styled with Tailwind CSS.
Recording uses the browser's native MediaRecorder API, which is why no extension or plugin is required. Transcription is Whisper-based, and rendering runs on FFmpeg away from the user's machine so a long export does not tie up your laptop.
Application data lives in PostgreSQL via Prisma, authentication is handled by NextAuth, payments run through Stripe, and media storage and delivery sit on Cloudflare.

Happyscribe.com is quite nice for that, with automated voice recognition and a WYSIWYG interface for subtitling (though I've never used it with Russian). Source: over 3 years ago
I have just found happyscribe.com. I am trying it and it translated quite good. I have to change perhaps 10% of the words. Source: almost 4 years ago
This is more of a question than an answer, but has anyone used an online audio transcription site to create an English transcription directly from a Spanish language audio podcast MP3 file? I was just looking into this this morning, and seems like there are some services out there that will do this, either for free for small files (10 min) or at what seems like a reasonable price. I was looking at veed.io,... Source: about 4 years ago
