Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Gurufocus and JournalPlus.

What makes your product unique?

JournalPlus's answer:

Unlike generic trading journals, JournalPlus is built by traders, for traders โ€” focusing not just on numbers, but on mindset, discipline, and consistency. It's more than a tracker; it's a behavioral mirror.

  • Psychology-First Design: Helps you spot emotional patterns, not just bad trades.

  • Structured Yet Flexible: Comes ready-to-use, but fully customizable for any strategy or style.

  • Built for Growth: Promotes reflection, learning, and progress โ€“ not just logging.

  • One-Time Purchase: Lifetime access โ€“ no subscriptions, no hidden costs.

  • Evolves with You: Regularly updated as trading psychology and needs change.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

JournalPlus's answer:

JournalPlus is built for traders, by tradersโ€”especially for the Indian market. Unlike complex platforms or foreign tools that miss local nuances, JournalPlus is laser-focused on what matters: journaling trades, analyzing mistakes, and improving discipline. Itโ€™s not bloated with features youโ€™ll never use. Thereโ€™s no subscription, just a one-time payment for lifetime access. Itโ€™s easy to use, doesnโ€™t require Notion, Excel, or coding skills, and is designed to actually help you stop blowing up your account.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

JournalPlus's answer:

JournalPlus is built for retail tradersโ€”especially those who trade in stocks, options, futures, and cryptoโ€”and want to improve their trading performance through better journaling and accountability.

Itโ€™s ideal for:

Beginner to intermediate traders looking to identify patterns in their wins and losses

Discipline-focused individuals who want to cut emotional decisions and FOMO trades

Indian traders, though it's useful for global users too

Traders who are tired of overcomplicated tools or expensive subscription-based platforms

What's the story behind your product?

JournalPlus's answer:

JournalPlus was born out of frustrationโ€”and a deep need for clarity.

Like most retail traders, we made impulsive trades, repeated the same mistakes, and blamed the markets. But the real problem? We werenโ€™t learning from our trades. We realized journaling was the keyโ€”but most trading journals were either too complex, too expensive, or just didnโ€™t fit into our daily routine.

So, we built JournalPlus.

A simple, powerful trading journal designed by traders, for tradersโ€”to track every trade, reflect on every mistake, and finally build the discipline that profitable trading demands.

Today, JournalPlus helps thousands of traders stay accountable, break bad patterns, and growโ€”with just one lifetime payment.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

JournalPlus's answer:

JournalPlus is trusted by thousands of individual traders, including:

  • Full-time independent traders looking to optimize performance

  • Beginner retail traders who want structure and discipline

  • Trading educators and mentors who recommend it to students

  • Prop firm aspirants preparing for challenges with consistent journaling

The must have tool for every trader

Finally the journal that is available for the Indian markets out there. The psychological analysis and the track of P&L records helps a lot in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of a trader. The analytics part of this journal gives much more useful insights than any other journal out there. It's definitely worth every rupee!

You might have missed the valuation graph from gurufocus.com. It represents historical p/e, p/b, p/s and future estimates. In general though for me personal at least I'm more interested in the quality of a company vs the valuation. It always fluctuates and if a great company is over valued I put it on a watch list. Another important parameter to observe is the overall market valuation. As with individual stocks, the overall market can be measured with P/E ratio and P/S ratio. But just like with cyclical companies, the whole economy is cyclical. During recessions, profit margins are low and earnings are depressed. P/E ratio gives a false indication of the market valuation.
