I use scrcpy with the Dex Dock and a dummy HDMI and connect wirelessly through tcpip to the dex instance. It smoothly runs at 50-60 fps (1080p), but I have capped it to 45fps since that's enough for my use case. If you want to give scrcpy a try I'd suggest reading a bit of the documentation of the dev on github or watching a YouTube quickstart guide. As your screen broke I assume you remember your gallery pin/password. There are some apps by which you can project your phone screen to pc. By this you can easily unhide you photos and then back them up elsewhere.You can try 1. 2. Source: over 3 years ago
