Video editors usually require downloading the original video, making the changes and uploading the edited video.
If the video is not yours then copyright issues may arise and the original video authors must be contacted and eventual permission obtained.
Using platforms like YouTube add another source of potential violations because hosting and delivering the video are done under stated policies, often not very easy to understand by lay people.
All this, in addition to the technical difficulties of extracting the original video, may discourage extracting added value of the original videos potential.
Or, even worse, may lead to abuse the copyright of the videos owners and eventually violate the hoster policies, even when they make obvious sense.
With VideosCut we are aiming to respect the rights of the authors and the hoster while at the same time enabling extracting more value from existing videos.
Videos became crucial to democratize education and training around the globe. We hope VideosCut will contribute to a better world!

It started on implmenting a video conference system where Youtube videos can be shared with high quality and shared viewing controls. Then someone wished for the shared video to highlight what was pertinent the meeting so... VideosCut was born!
