Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Google's Python Class and SeekBeak.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

SeekBeak's answer:

The best internet tech. Hand coded by humans since 2014.

What's the story behind your product?

SeekBeak's answer:

In 2014, SeekBeak started out like a lot of great things do: as a solution to a problem: when we wanted to show off a Photo Sphere, Panoramic, or 360ยฐ photo to our friends or clients, there weren't many options available, unless we hosted it ourselves. If we wanted to add extra media or information, things got even uglier.

The existing solutions were cumbersome to say the least, especially if we wanted to add extra content, or any sort of interactivity to our photo. Some solutions required us to have our own web hosting, to download and install software, run certain versions of operating systems, and some even had their own programming and scripting languages to learn!

We firmly believed that there should be a faster and easier way to share your panoramic and 360ยฐ photos with anyone in the world, with full interactive content, by simply using any modern desktop or mobile web browser. SeekBeak is that result.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

SeekBeak's answer:

Much to the chagrin of our marketing folks, SeekBeak is privacy first, and most of our large / brag worthy clients are using us for internal and private content. i.e. Employee training, paid courses, education. What we can say is that a certain number of those clients are in the USA, and part of the Fortune 50. Other large clients of ours are well known global behemoths, and others are very well regarded educational institutions around the world.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SeekBeak's answer:

SeekBeak is used a lot by training and education teams: corporate L&D, workforce development, schools, and universities building interactive 360ยฐ lessons, walkthroughs, and SCORM-ready courseware.

We also have a lot of construction, architecture, and engineering firms documenting sites and progress, and drone and aerial photographers turning 360ยฐ and aerial captures into navigable, interactive tours.

We're also a core tool for real estate and property marketers showcasing spaces, and for the professional photographers, 360ยฐ content producers, and marketing agencies who build immersive experiences for their own clients.

Beyond that, SeekBeak supports a wide range of engagement-driven organizations: museums and galleries, tourism and destination marketers, municipal and government teams, non-profits, and retail... anyone who wants to add interactivity, information, and storytelling to 360ยฐ images, flat images, 3D models, and Gaussian splats, then embed or share the result.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

SeekBeak's answer:

Because you get the power of the desktop tools and the ease of the web ones, without giving up either. There's no $3,000 camera, and no proprietary hardware. Upload a 360ยฐ photo, a flat image, a 3D model, or a Gaussian Splat from gear you already own, then build it all right in your browser.

And we don't stop at clickable hotspots like everyone else does. With custom variables, a visual rule builder, and conditional branching, you can create tours that actually react to your viewer and adapt in real time, all with #nocode. Design your own interfaces on top of any scene with custom overlays, and capture leads, answers, and feedback right inside the experience with built-in forms.

When it's time to share, you're covered whether you're flying solo or running an agency. Walk a client or a class through a tour live with Tour Guide, complete with remote audio and video chat and the ability to take control and drive the experience for them. Hand off scoped access to clients and collaborators with access links, no account required. And as you grow, organize everyone with teams, sub-teams, and role-based access so the right people touch the right content and nothing else.

Then prove it all worked. Our heatmaps and full reporting suite show you exactly where people looked, clicked, and dropped off, with analytics that keep working even behind ad-blockers. And because real-world tours have to reach everyone, we back our accessibility with a published conformance report (VPAT) and WCAG 2.2 AA support that stands up to your compliance team.

Powerful, browser-based, and built for the real world. That combination is genuinely hard to find anywhere else.

What makes your product unique?

SeekBeak's answer:

We made SeekBeak easy enough for your mom to use, and powerful enough that you'll never outgrow it. It's a platform where every immersive format lives together: 360ยฐ images, flat photos, 3D models, and Gaussian Splats, all in a single editor anyone can learn in minutes.

That said, when you're ready to go deeper, it's all there: hotspots, variables, rules, and conditional actions that turn static scenes into branching tours, quizzes, and guided workflows, all without writing a line of code. It's the rare tool made by developers who get that most people aren't developers, and that the ones who are will want room to push.
