  • File Size
Notes and documents in GoodNotes can become quite large, potentially taking up substantial storage space on your device.

Possible disadvantages of StarNote

  • Limited Track Record
As a relatively new and lesser-known platform, StarNote lacks the established track record and proven reliability of more mature note-taking applications like Notion, Evernote, or Obsidian.
  • Potential Privacy Concerns
Since StarNote uses AI to process notes, users may have concerns about how their personal data and notes are stored, processed, and potentially used for training AI models.
  • Limited Ecosystem and Integrations
Compared to established competitors, StarNote likely has fewer third-party integrations, plugins, and extensions, which can limit its usefulness within broader productivity workflows.
  • Dependency on AI Accuracy
The platform's heavy reliance on AI means that inaccuracies in AI-generated content, summaries, or categorizations could lead to errors or misorganized information.
  • Uncertain Long-Term Viability
As a newer startup product, there is uncertainty about its long-term sustainability, which poses a risk for users who invest significant time building their note collections on the platform.

  • Some links work, some don't
There's a share.goodnotes.com link and others are just goodnotes.com. I could only get one notebook to have the fist link a few months ago and it works for viewing it online on Windows on any browser, the other one just takes me to a page telling me to launch the app which I can only do on Apple devices. Is there any way to get the other type of link or was it just an experiment? Source: over 4 years ago
