Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Gitrob and LeakWatch.net.

What makes your product unique?

LeakWatch.net's answer:

Detection is the easy part. LeakWatch is built around what happens after.

Three things set it apart: 1. Validity, not pattern matching. Finding a string shaped like an AWS key is trivial : gitleaks and TruffleHog do it for free. LeakWatch takes the extra step : it checks the credential against the provider to see if it's still active. Today that covers 25 providers (AWS, Stripe, GitHub, OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure, Google, Discord, npm, database URIs, private keys…). A dead key is noise; a live key is an incident. 2. Three forges, not just GitHub. GitHub, GitLab and Codeberg, monitored continuously: public repos and, via the GitHub App, private ones. Most tools stop at GitHub. 3. Full git history, not just HEAD. Secrets are usually "fixed" by a later commit that deletes the line, which leaves the key perfectly readable in history and perfectly invisible to a HEAD-only scan. LeakWatch replays the whole history.

Plus: a public API, a README badge, per-provider revocation steps, and a free scan with no account. €4.99/month.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

LeakWatch.net's answer:

Because the leak that hurts you usually isn't in your repo. It's in a fork, a contributor's personal account, or a throwaway snippet. Every other option scans code you already control : GitHub scans repos hosted there, the CLIs scan clones you run them on. LeakWatch watches the perimeter around you, on GitHub, GitLab and Codeberg, with no install and no per-seat pricing.
