The Git CLI is terrifying and awful. It's far too easy to clobber your own work -- and that of others -- when the whole point of it was to prevent that. While you still need to really deeply understand several git concepts to use it, GitKraken[0] is the best GUI tool I've used in daily practice. Reminds me of a project some friends built a few years ago called ReactMonacle that parsed your react source and produced a graph view of your components. It was abandoned long ago, but was a huge hit at the time - I'm sure a lot of devs would love a way to visualize their code. Some game engines have this kind of functionality, it's pretty neat.
