GitHub Profile Roast πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ 5 features
Twitter Mark 6 features
  • Entertaining and Humorous
GitHub Profile Roast provides a fun and lighthearted way to get a humorous critique of your GitHub profile, making it an entertaining tool for developers who enjoy comedy and self-deprecating humor about their coding habits.
  • Easy to Use
The tool is extremely simple to use β€” just enter a GitHub username and get an instant AI-generated roast. There's no sign-up, no authentication, and no complicated setup required.
  • Great for Social Sharing
The roasts generated are often funny enough to share on social media platforms like Twitter/X and LinkedIn, making it a viral and engaging tool that helps developers connect with their community through humor.
  • Free to Use
The tool is available for free on its web interface, making it accessible to anyone with a GitHub profile who wants to have a laugh without any cost barrier.
  • Motivational Through Humor
By humorously pointing out gaps in your GitHub profile β€” such as lack of contributions, empty READMEs, or abandoned repos β€” it can actually motivate developers to improve their profiles and coding habits in a non-threatening way.

Possible disadvantages

  • Can Be Offensive or Hurtful
AI-generated roasts can sometimes cross the line from funny to mean-spirited, potentially hurting feelings of developers who are sensitive about their work, especially beginners or those who are just starting their coding journey.
  • Limited Accuracy
The roasts are generated by AI based on publicly available GitHub data, which means they may not accurately reflect a developer's actual skills, contributions to private repos, or professional experience outside of GitHub.
  • Repetitive Humor
After using the tool a few times or seeing multiple roasts, the humor and joke patterns can become repetitive and predictable, as the AI tends to rely on similar tropes and roast templates.
  • Privacy Concerns
Users may not be fully aware that the tool scrapes and processes their public GitHub profile data through third-party AI services, raising potential concerns about data usage and privacy.
  • No Constructive Feedback
While the roasts are entertaining, they don't provide any genuinely constructive or actionable feedback on how to actually improve your GitHub profile, repositories, or coding practices β€” it's purely comedic with no real developmental value.
  • Local-First Storage
Bookmarks, likes, tags, settings, and search indexes stay in your browser's local database.
  • Read-Only Sync
Incremental and full sync without posting, liking, following, or removing items on your behalf.
  • Search and Filters
Search post content and authors, then filter by media, language, date, tags, and more.
  • Custom Tags
Organize saved posts with custom tags and fast tag-based filtering.
  • Background and Resumable Sync
Background jobs include progress history and can resume after interruption.
  • JSON Backup and Restore
Export and restore archive data in a portable JSON format.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing GitHub Profile Roast πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ and Twitter Mark.

What makes your product unique?

Twitter Mark's answer:

Twitter Mark is local-first: synced X/Twitter bookmarks and likes, indexes, tags, settings, and history stay in your browser's local database instead of a hosted archive. Sync is read-onlyβ€”it never posts, likes, follows, or removes items for you. It combines incremental/full sync, search, filters, custom tags, resumable background jobs, and JSON backup/restore in one Chrome extension.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Twitter Mark's answer:

Choose Twitter Mark if you want a private, user-controlled archive rather than another cloud feed or X automation tool. It handles both bookmarks and likes, keeps archive data on your device, provides read-only and resumable sync, and lets you export and restore JSON backups. A useful free tier is available, while Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase with no monthly expiry.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Twitter Mark's answer:

Twitter Mark is for people who deliberately save useful posts on X and later struggle to retrieve themβ€”researchers, creators, developers, students, and other knowledge workers who want a personal reference library. It especially suits privacy-conscious users who prefer local storage, read-only access, search, tagging, and portable backups.

What's the story behind your product?

Twitter Mark's answer:

Twitter Mark began with a simple problem: saving posts on X is easy, but finding them again later is not. It was built to turn bookmarks and likes into a fast, searchable local archive while preserving privacy and user control. The result is a read-only Chrome extension with tagging, filters, resilient sync, and JSON backup and restore.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Twitter Mark's answer:

Twitter Mark's Chrome extension is built with TypeScript, React, WXT, and Dexie on top of IndexedDB. It uses a Manifest V3 browser-extension architecture and stores archive data locally. The commercial companion site uses React and TypeScript on Cloudflare Workers, with Stripe handling one-time Pro purchases.
