Beacon Safe is a personal-safety check-in app — a modern dead man's switch. Set a daily check-in; if you don't confirm, it reaches your emergency contacts by email, SMS, then an automated voice call in a four-phase escalation. Unlike Kitestring, Snug Safety, or bSafe, it never tracks your...

Overall verdict

  • I don't have verified, up-to-date information about Beacon Safe (beaconsafe.app) to make a reliable assessment of its quality, safety, or trustworthiness. Before using this service, I recommend conducting independent research through reviews, checking company transparency, verifying security certifications, and testing with minimal exposure first.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing GitHub for Atom and Beacon Safe.

What makes your product unique?

Beacon Safe's answer:

Three real alert channels — email, SMS, and an automated voice call — instead of one. The check-in timer runs on our servers, so alerts still fire if your phone is dead, off, or lost. And it never tracks your location; it only acts when you miss a check-in.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Beacon Safe's answer:

Unlike Kitestring (discontinued), single-email tools, or $15–20/mo apps, Beacon Safe reaches your contacts across email, SMS, and voice in a four-phase escalation, runs server-side so it works phone-off, and costs $7.99/mo. No location tracking, ads, or data sale.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Beacon Safe's answer:

People who live alone, solo travelers, night-shift and lone workers, and seniors — plus the family members who worry about them. Anyone who wants someone alerted automatically if they go silent.

What's the story behind your product?

Beacon Safe's answer:

After Kitestring shut down, the remaining "check in or we alert someone" options were either single-channel or expensive. Beacon Safe — built by Copperline Labs, a solo studio — is the version that does email + SMS + voice, runs server-side, and respects privacy.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Beacon Safe's answer:

Beacon Safe is a native iOS and Android app backed by a secure server-side system that runs the check-in timer and fires alerts. We use established, compliance-grade infrastructure for SMS, voice, and email delivery. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, we collect no location data, and we never sell or share your information.
