Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing GitHub Copilot and LuxeBook.app.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

LuxeBook.app's answer:

  • Reminders come from your own WhatsApp number, not a bot — clients actually respond
  • No marketplace: your booking page shows only you, never nearby competitors
  • Gap booking lets you take another client during colour processing windows — revenue most stylists are leaving on the table
  • 6-week follow-up tab surfaces lapsed clients for one-tap personal re-engagement
  • Built for Malaysia and Singapore from day one — correct currency, timezone, language defaults
  • $9/month flat with no per-message fees, no commission, no upsell tiers
  • 30-day free trial with no credit card required

What makes your product unique?

LuxeBook.app's answer:

LuxeBook sends appointment reminders from the stylist's own WhatsApp number — not from a system bot. Every other scheduling tool in this space sends automated notifications from a platform account the client doesn't recognise. LuxeBook generates a pre-filled message the stylist sends with one tap from their own phone. To the client, it feels like a personal message from someone they know. It also includes a 6-week follow-up tab that surfaces lapsed clients for re-engagement, and gap booking that lets stylists earn during colour processing time. Built specifically for WhatsApp-first markets — Malaysia, Singapore, Middle East — not retrofitted from a US SMS product.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

LuxeBook.app's answer:

Independent beauty professionals — solo hair stylists, nail technicians, lash artists, and booth or suite renters managing 20–60 clients per week. Typically operating in Malaysia, Singapore, or other WhatsApp-dominant markets. They currently manage bookings through a mix of WhatsApp DMs, Instagram messages, and a paper diary, and spend 3–5 hours per week on manual reminder texts and follow-ups. Not suited for multi-staff chains or salon managers overseeing large teams.

What's the story behind your product?

LuxeBook.app's answer:

LuxeBook was built by a solo developer after watching a close friend — an independent hair stylist — spend 90 minutes every Sunday night manually typing WhatsApp reminders to each of her clients for the following day. She had tried existing scheduling tools but hit the same three problems every time: reminders came from a system number her clients didn't recognise, the cheapest good option cost $24/month, and one platform showed her clients other nearby stylists after they booked. LuxeBook was built to solve exactly those three problems — personal reminders, honest pricing, and no marketplace conflict. It launched in 2026.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

LuxeBook.app's answer:

Next.js 14 (App Router), TypeScript, Prisma ORM, LibSQL/Turso (SQLite-compatible edge database), NextAuth (Google OAuth), Stripe (subscriptions and billing), Resend (transactional email), Tailwind CSS, deployed on Railway via Docker.
