Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Family Odyssey's answer:

Three reasons. The core app is free and stays free — no cap on how far back your calendar history goes. It doesn't connect to your email or your photo library; you pick which calendars to share and nothing else is read, which is unusual in a category where most AI assistants ask for inbox access. And it does the whole household, not one slice: shared calendar, to-do lists, recipes and meal planning, and an AI assistant that answers from your family's actual schedule.

What makes your product unique?

Family Odyssey's answer:

Most family apps show you four calendars side by side and leave the hard part to you. Family Odyssey reads across every member's connected calendars and works out the windows when the whole household is genuinely free at the same time — we call them Bonding Blocks. Instead of asking "when are you free?" in a group chat six times a week, you open the app and the answer is already there.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Family Odyssey's answer:

Busy parents coordinating two or more schedules — typically households with school-age kids where one person has quietly become the default keeper of everyone's calendar. It's built for the whole circle, though: partners, kids with their own profiles, and grandparents who just need to see what's happening this weekend.

What's the story behind your product?

Family Odyssey's answer:

I built it for my own household. My wife and I kept missing things that lived in one of our heads and never made it to the other's calendar, and every Saturday started with "I don't know, what do you want to do?" Existing family apps were good at storing events and bad at answering the question we actually had, which was when all of us were free at once. So I started building it with my family as the first and most demanding users.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Family Odyssey's answer:

React Native and TypeScript for the iOS and Android apps, Next.js for the web app, Node.js and Express for the API, and PostgreSQL via Supabase for data, auth and real-time sync. OpenAI powers the assistant and the family insights. Calendar integration uses the Google Calendar and Apple Calendar APIs, with Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?
