This feels like the start of treasure hunt like game. Between username of rabinovich (as others have pointed out) and the prior submission by rabinovich of an archive.today like tool 3 months ago - https://ghostarchive.org/. When you click into the search query examples for ghostarchive such as this one https://ghostarchive.org/search?term=https://docs.google.com. Many of the documents are very weird indeed. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I used to solely depend on Wayback machine to automate archiving pages, now I am archiving webpages using selenium python package on https://archive.ph/ and https://ghostarchive.org/ This told me not to depend on 3rd party parties. Might self-host https://archivebox.io/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Same story with the archive.ph links for me, but https://ghostarchive.org/ usually works. https://ghostarchive.org/archive/rHlPS. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Https://ghostarchive.org/ is perhaps an alternative, and archive.org of course. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Twitter seems to have made an exception for archiving via the Internet Archive, so you can view tweets and profiles via https://web.archive.org/save if needed. They've not done the same for other archive sites like https://archive.ph and https://ghostarchive.org though. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
Zero-K is a similar game (also opensource, built on same engine, slightly different design goals): https://zero-k.info/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/334920/ZeroK/ Zero-K simplified the economy (metal cost = energy cost) but added a whole lot of mechanics like overdrive grids and made every unit unique. There is a lot more unit variety with mind-control, jumpjets, shields, unit-throwers, self-replicators,... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
And, for completion, with the same engine that beyond all reason is done, but with a different game play feeling: https://zero-k.info/ I personally prefer Zero-K (flatter tech tree, territory can be more important), but both are great games. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
I'll take this opportunity to recommend Zero-K[1] for those who were into Total Annihilation. It's truly excellent! [1]: https://zero-k.info/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Zero-k (https://zero-k.info/) on the same engine supports custom maps. How would you feel about uploading / other people uploading the map? Source: about 3 years ago
My current favorite is Beyond All Reason. Before BAR, my favorite was Zero-K. Both BAR and zk use the same game engine, SpringRTS. BAR and zk are very similar to one another, and they're successors for Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander. Source: over 3 years ago
