Most 3D viewers make you install software, create an account, or pay for a subscription before you can even open a file. GeometryViewer does none of that. You drag a file in, you get a shareable link, and anyone with that link can view it in their browser, see it in AR on their phone, or export it as a GIF.
GeometryViewer's answer
Because it is genuinely free with no catch. No account, no watermark on the free tier, no file size limit hidden behind a paywall, no install. Sketchfab requires an account and puts branding on free embeds. Most desktop viewers only work on Windows. Browser-based alternatives tend to support only one or two formats. GeometryViewer handles STL, OBJ, GLB, GLTF, 3MF, and FBX in one place, with AR preview on mobile and GIF export built in. It also works offline after the first visit.

GeometryViewer's answer
Three.js for WebGL rendering, WebXR for augmented reality on mobile, and a custom Web Component that makes the viewer embeddable on any page with a single HTML tag. The PWA is built on standard Service Worker APIs for offline support. The backend is minimal - file storage and short URL generation. No server-side rendering of 3D content; everything runs in the browser.
GeometryViewer's answer
It all started because sharing a 3D model with someone who has no 3D software is surprisingly painful. Sending a file means the other person needs software. Sketchfab requires an account. Microsoft 3D Viewer only works on Windows and is being discontinued in July 2026. GeometryViewer exists to solve that exact problem - open any common 3D format in a browser, get a link, share it. AR preview and GIF export came later as features users actually asked for.
