Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Full Stack Marketer and ScoutLoot.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ScoutLoot's answer:

Node.js, TypeScript, Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ for job queues, and Anthropic's Claude Haiku for AI-powered listing classification. Hosted on DigitalOcean with Nginx and managed with PM2.

What makes your product unique?

ScoutLoot's answer:

ScoutLoot is the only tool that monitors both eBay and BrickOwl across 7 countries simultaneously, with AI-powered filtering that eliminates false positives. Unlike price trackers that just show historical data, ScoutLoot actively hunts for mispriced listings from sellers who don't know what they have — and alerts you before anyone else grabs the deal.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ScoutLoot's answer:

Most LEGO tools focus on price history or catalog data. ScoutLoot focuses on action — finding deals you can buy right now. It calculates real shipping costs to your specific country, filters out junk listings with a 20-step AI quality gate, and sends instant alerts via Telegram, Discord, email, or push notifications. You set your target sets and discount threshold, then wait for deals to come to you instead of manually scrolling through thousands of listings.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ScoutLoot's answer:

LEGO collectors hunting for retired sets at good prices, LEGO investors who buy sealed sets as alternative investments, and casual deal hunters who enjoy finding bargains. The common thread is people who know what LEGO sets are worth and want to automate the tedious process of scanning marketplaces for underpriced listings.

What's the story behind your product?

ScoutLoot's answer:

I'm a Spanish filmmaker and teacher who got into LEGO collecting and kept missing great deals because I couldn't monitor eBay across multiple countries all day. With virtually no programming background, I used AI tools to help me build the platform I wished existed. What started as a personal deal-finding tool grew into a full product covering 7 countries, 2 marketplaces, and 7 languages — all built solo over several months.
