Freshdesk provides a free helpdesk system so we can manage our support tickets. They have the feature that allows us to send emails through our own email address (vs using their own email address), and an app that works well to respond and organize tickets.
My biggest gripe with the service is that they are missing a feature that HelpScout has, where we can reply directly to the notification email and that reply gets sent to the customer. With freshdesk, we have to log into their portal or use the app in order to send a reply.
I would recommend this to someone looking for a way to automate outbound calls. You don't need a developer, Plivo does all the heavy lifting for you. I use it for all my marketing needs and it has made my life so much easier. I have used it for a couple of years now, and I am always pleased with the quality of service and support.
Based on our record, Freshdesk seems to be a lot more popular than Plivo. While we know about 12 links to Freshdesk, we've tracked only 1 mention of Plivo. Since Freewallet is a quite small company they outsource their "support" from this Indian startup the communication is quite complicated. If the company doesn't want to spend more money in order to hire a good support engineer, and instead prefers to save some money by going offshore. Then this companies' customers swill suffer. We use Freshdesk from Freshworks. Works great for us. No real complaints. Source: almost 2 years ago
This is so nostalgic. I actually met my cofounder on github due to a discussion on twisted vs gevent back in 2011. I had my inital code in twisted and he wrote the gevent piece. Fast forward 12 years and we still use gevent at http://plivo.com :) Some of our initial code snippets: # Twisted. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
