Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing FraudPulse and CloudPloy.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

FraudPulse's answer

  • APIs & Integrations: Deep integration with Stripe API (Radar Rules, Dispute Webhooks) and Shopify Admin API (Orders, Risk Assessments, Shopify Protect).
  • Classification & Analytics: Python, automated dispute taxonomy models, and rule-impact simulation algorithms.
  • Backend & Security: PostgreSQL with encrypted data handling and secure webhook verification adhering to PCI-DSS best practices.
  • Frontend: Modern TypeScript and React dashboard designed for fast, actionable risk visibility.

What makes your product unique?

FraudPulse's answer

Most fraud platforms act as an expensive "rip-and-replace" black box (like Signifyd or Riskified) or only fight chargebacks after you've already lost the money (like dispute representment tools).

FraudPulse takes a completely different approach: it is an additive intelligence layer for Stripe and Shopify merchants. It ingests and classifies your actual disputes into granular fraud types (true card fraud, friendly fraud, card testing, item-not-received) and delivers ranked, actionable Stripe Radar and Shopify Protect rule recommendations each with an estimated fraud-capture rate and false-positive risk. Instead of replacing your payment stack, FraudPulse tells you exactly which rules to tune to stop chargebacks before they happen.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

FraudPulse's answer

  • No "Rip-and-Replace": You don’t have to switch payment processors or hand checkout decision-making to a third party. It works alongside your existing Stripe Radar and Shopify setup.
  • Transparent Rule Tuning vs. Black Boxes: Enterprise fraud tools decline legitimate customers without explaining why. FraudPulse gives you transparent rule-level guidance so you stop fraudsters without hurting checkout conversion rates.
  • Prevention Over Representment: Fighting chargebacks after they occur still hits your dispute ratio and triggers bank fees. FraudPulse stops disputes upstream.
  • Accessible to Growing Merchants: Enterprise fraud suites charge hefty monthly minimums and GMV percentages. FraudPulse provides enterprise-grade fraud intelligence at a price point built for independent DTC and SMB merchants.

What's the story behind your product?

FraudPulse's answer

FraudPulse was created out of direct frustration with the e-commerce fraud landscape. As merchants and developers scaling online stores, we saw the same pattern repeated: a sudden spike in chargebacks or card testing would trigger scary warnings from Stripe or Shopify.

When looking for help, the only options were blunt native settings (which blocked legitimate buyers) or enterprise fraud platforms demanding lengthy contracts, technical overhauls, and steep percentage fees. We realized merchants didn't want another bloated dashboard or a black-box guarantee—they just wanted to know: "Why are these chargebacks slipping through, and exactly which rules do I need to toggle to stop them?" FraudPulse was built to provide that exact intelligence.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

FraudPulse's answer

  • Shopify & Stripe Merchants: DTC brands, subscription businesses, and digital retailers processing $20k to $1M+ in monthly volume.
  • Founders & E-commerce Operators: Store owners and operations leads who don't have a dedicated in-house fraud or risk team.
  • Merchants Facing Dispute Pressure: Stores that have received Stripe dispute rate warnings, spikes in card testing, or excessive "friendly fraud" and need to safeguard their merchant accounts without slashing checkout conversion.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

FraudPulse's answer

FraudPulse protects high-growth direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, digital goods merchants, and omnichannel Shopify retailers across North America and Europe.

Our core user base includes fast-scaling apparel & accessories brands, high-AOV electronics merchants, and subscription commerce companies operating on Shopify Payments and Stripe who rely on FraudPulse to keep their dispute rate well below card network thresholds while maximizing checkout approvals.
