This (agent detection) is now a kind of emerging space. Obviously it'll get much more important, too. Other products in the space: - Foil (https://usefoil.com/), I'm biased, a friend is building this - Kasada https://www.kasada.io/ - DataDome (https://datadome.co/) - Castle (https://castle.io/) - Fingerprint (https://fingerprint.com/) - HUMAN (http://humansecurity.com/) - Google Cloud Fraud Defense, which is... - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
Cookies are not the meta for tracking. Fingerprinting [1] is highly effective across IPs and across incognito/browser profiles. The only browsers I've found that defeat it on desktop are Mullvad and Tor Browser as well as most antidetect browsers. Mullvad (essentially Tor Browser without the Tor network built in for better usability on the web) and Tor browser are blocked from using or signing up for most websites... - Source: Hacker News / 28 days ago
What differentiates this from http://fingerprint.com/? Visited for the first time and it said I already visited 800+ times with a 99.5% accurancy - not very promising. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
FYI I wouldnโt say that the Mullvad browser is any better at anti-fingerprinting than Librewolf. I always point people to http://fingerprint.com/ so they can see how difficult it is to beat even JS based tracking and this doesnโt even get into the server-side methods (i.e. Just fetching a stylesheet) of tracking users. Thatโs not to say you shouldnโt use a browser that blocks ads etc but I donโt think people... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
The Tor Browser wonโt effectively stop fingerprinting, if anything it makes you more unique due to the low amount of people worldwide using it, and then you add points of data by using different DNS providers, extensions etc. The Tor Browser as a privacy measure is likely no better than a normal browser with uBlock if youโre also using it like a โnormalโ browser, signing into the same accounts you always use etc.... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
Well, the file probably is packed with VMProtect to prevent reverse engineering, so it is not a false alarm per se, but given that it is likely a legitimate file that has used the packer for legitimate reasons, it probably should not be detected. Source: about 4 years ago
