Iโm using FilePizza when I need it, saw it on HN recently. All this AI magic allegedly taking our jobs, but we still canโt transfer files from one device to another, or print a document reliably. https://file.pizza/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
I wanted something between https://file.pizza and โephemeral Signal chatโ, but with my custom cryptographic idea (I know I know... WebRTC is already encrypted and it is easy to go wrong etc.). The project started as a toy for sharing large DAW files with my bandmates (and to flex some applied crypto skills), then grew into a general toolkit. It is also a nice side project to test LLMs as companion coders and to... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
Have you seen https://file.pizza/ FilePizza? Similar concept using WebRTC. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
The thing that usually annoys me about these services is that they tend to give you an intractably complex URL to share with the recipient. This poses a problem because almost every time I need such a P2P transfer, Iโm communication with someone over a phone and they need the file on their computer. https://file.pizza does this better than most, as the URL consists of real words. It's ironic that the article that caused him to write this post (https://substack.com/@justindeschamps/note/c-261265212?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=7y05q) is written by AI. I see this style of informational writing all over the place now. - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago

Sure there was basically a cartel in social media. You saw coordinated censorship campaigns to ban the former president of the United States for example. But I wouldn't discount the amount of political interference there as well. The last administration admitted to flagging individual posts for the social media companies. But it's also true there is a lot of coordinated censorship even without state interference.... - Source: Hacker News / 17 days ago
Manhattan Project: $36B, 5 years โซ Apollo Program: $257B, 14 years โซ Interstate Highway System: $620B, 37 years โซ AI data centers: $930B, 6 years and still accelerating From: https://substack.com/@rubendominguez/note/c-244929068. - Source: Hacker News / 14 days ago
The thing is, even the center of the road academics who refrain from such comparisons are noting the similarity. The MAGA movement meets the traditional defining characteristics of fascio. We can be rigid and say that only Mussoliniโs political movement can be properly be called fascist. But if we call Hitler and the Nazis fascists as well, then we open the door to any movement that meets the criteria. And Trump... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
