Brainfo is an AI-native second brain that replaces a scattered productivity stack โ€” Notion, Evernote, Obsidian, Google Docs, Todoist, and several AI tabs โ€” with one calm, integrated workspace.

It brings together everything knowledge workers need to think, write, and ship:

  • Notes โ€” fast Google-Keep-style capture with checklists, colors, tags, and voice-to-text
  • Docs โ€” block-based, real-time collaborative editor with version history and AI copilot
  • Bookmarks โ€” visual link library for research and inspiration
  • Databases โ€” relational, AI-enhanced structured data
  • Tasks & Goals โ€” execution layer with reminders and OKR-style tracking
  • AI Chat Hub โ€” switch between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, GLM, Grok and more on a single subscription; chat with your notes, files and docs; convert any AI chat into a clean document with one click

Built on Tiago Forte's CODE methodology (Capture, Organize, Distill, Express), Brainfo is ready out of the box โ€” no blank pages, no plugin tinkering, no setup tax.

Local-first architecture means it stays fast and works offline. Cross-device sync covers Web, iOS, and Android. GDPR-compliant, encrypted in transit and at rest, and your content is never used to train AI models.

A modern alternative to Notion, Evernote, Obsidian, Logseq, Anytype, Tana, Google Keep, Google Docs, Capacities, Coda, Craft, Todoist, and Microsoft Loop.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Fast.com and Brainfo.

What's the story behind your product?

Brainfo's answer:

Brainfo started from a problem the team kept running into themselves: knowledge work is fragmented.

Notes lived in one app. Docs in another. Bookmarks in a third. Tasks in a fourth. AI in three different browser tabs. The "second brain" promise of modern productivity tools kept colliding with the reality that no single tool actually delivered it โ€” every option was either too simple to be powerful, or too powerful to be usable.

The team set out to build the second brain they wished existed: one workspace that combines the lightweight capture of Google Keep, the writing depth of Google Docs and Notion, the linked thinking of Obsidian, and the AI capabilities of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini โ€” without any of the overwhelm, plugin tinkering, or constant maintenance those tools demand.

Brainfo is designed around Tiago Forte's CODE methodology (Capture, Organize, Distill, Express) and built on three core beliefs: that knowledge should be connected, not scattered; that AI should be multi-model and included, not paywalled and locked to a single provider; and that great tools should feel ready on day one, not after a weekend of setup.

Today, Brainfo is in early access with a growing waitlist of students, writers, creators, freelancers, managers, and teams who've decided their second brain shouldn't feel like a second job.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Brainfo's answer:

Because every major competitor forces a trade-off Brainfo doesn't.

Notion is powerful but overwhelming โ€” you spend hours building the system before getting work done. Brainfo gives you the same flexibility without the blank page or "productivity theater."

Obsidian is private and powerful but technical โ€” plugins, Markdown setup, and weak mobile slow you down. Brainfo gives you the same local-first linked thinking with a polished web and mobile app, no plugins required.

Evernote is familiar but flat โ€” no databases, no links, no second-brain structure, and single-model AI. Brainfo keeps the easy capture and adds connected knowledge plus every top AI model.

Google Keep and Docs are simple but shallow โ€” your knowledge ends up scattered across four different apps with Gemini paywalled. Brainfo unifies everything in one workspace with multi-model AI included.

Tana is AI-native but heavy โ€” Supertags and credit-metered AI take time to learn and add up fast. Brainfo gives you AI-native power on one flat subscription, with a far gentler learning curve.

In short: Brainfo is the only second brain that's powerful enough for serious work, simple enough to use from day one, and AI-native by default โ€” not as an upsell.

What makes your product unique?

Brainfo's answer:

Three things set Brainfo apart from every other note-taking and knowledge-management tool on the market:

  1. It's AI-native and multi-model. Brainfo includes a built-in AI Chat Hub that lets you switch between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, GLM, Grok and other top models on a single subscription โ€” and the AI works directly on your own notes, docs, and files. No other mainstream second-brain tool offers true multi-model AI in one place.

  2. It's ready out of the box. There's no blank page, no plugin setup, no template tinkering, no "second job" maintaining the system. Brainfo ships with pre-built structure, ready-made workspaces, and AI agents that organize content for you โ€” so you start working in minutes, not weeks.

  3. It's powerful but not overwhelming. Notes, Docs, Bookmarks, Databases, Tasks, Goals, and AI all live in one workspace, but the UI stays calm and execution-focused. You get Notion-grade power without Notion-grade complexity, and Obsidian-grade linking without Obsidian-grade setup.

Add to that local-first architecture, real-time collaboration, offline support, and end-to-end encryption โ€” and Brainfo becomes the first second brain built for both serious thinking and serious doing.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Brainfo's answer:

Brainfo is built for knowledge workers who think for a living and want one calm place to do that thinking โ€” not five disconnected apps.

The core audience breaks into six groups:

  • Students โ€” organizing research, lecture notes, study guides, and writing assignments.
  • Writers and content creators โ€” capturing ideas, outlining articles, drafting long-form work, and turning AI conversations into clean documents.
  • Managers and team leads โ€” running projects, taking meeting notes, tracking goals, and collaborating on docs in real time.
  • Freelancers and consultants โ€” managing clients, projects, deliverables, and personal knowledge in one workspace.
  • Life organizers and PKM enthusiasts โ€” building a personal second brain using the CODE methodology (Capture, Organize, Distill, Express).
  • Small and growing teams โ€” collaborating on docs, notes, tasks, and AI agents inside shared workspaces.

What unites them is a single shared frustration: their work and knowledge are scattered across a notes app, a docs app, a bookmark manager, a task app, and three AI tabs โ€” and they want it all in one place, with AI built in, without spending a weekend setting up the system.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Brainfo's answer:

Brainfo is built as a modern, local-first web application with native mobile clients.

The core stack includes:

  • Frontend: React and TypeScript for the web app, with a block-based editor architecture and an offline-first sync layer.
  • Mobile: native iOS and Android clients built with shared logic and consistent UX across devices.
  • Backend: Node.js services with PostgreSQL for relational data and object storage for media and attachments.
  • Real-time collaboration: CRDT-based sync so multiple users can edit notes and docs simultaneously, online or offline, without conflicts.
  • Search: hybrid keyword and semantic (vector-based) search across notes, docs, and files.
  • AI layer: a multi-model AI hub integrating ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, GLM, Grok, and other top language models โ€” orchestrated through a unified interface and agent framework.
  • Security: TLS in transit, AES encryption at rest, GDPR compliance, and a strict policy against using customer content to train AI models.
  • Infrastructure: cloud-hosted on modern container infrastructure with global CDN delivery for fast load times anywhere.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Brainfo's answer:

  • Brainfo is currently in early access with a growing waitlist of users across multiple segments
  • Students at universities organizing research and coursework
  • Independent writers, journalists, and content creators using Brainfo as their writing and second-brain workspace
  • Freelancers, consultants, and solopreneurs managing clients and projects
  • Small product, marketing, and design teams collaborating on docs and notes
  • PKM (personal knowledge management) enthusiasts building second brains using the CODE methodology
