That is exactly how fast.com works for internet speed tests. You open it, it runs, you see a number. Done. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
Pro tip: Run a speed test immediately before the event. Don't trust your "up to 100 Mbps" ISP claim. Use fast.com or speedtest.net to get real numbers. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
Speedtest has always seemed incredibly sketchy to me, I donโt know if others share this sentiment. https://fast.com completed the test faster than speedtest loads the site. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Is this for remote access VPN? If so, what kind of bandwidth are you seeing on a speed test site like fast.com (with the VPN off) compared to the VPN bandwidth you're experiencing? Source: over 2 years ago
What result do you get from fast.com ? What about if you ping your router? Source: over 2 years ago
Websites like speedtest.net, fast.com and etc do provide measurement in megabits, and even with that, speedtest.net provides it between you and your ISP(mostly) only. So if you want to download something from lets say, YouTube, the speed will be slightly different because now you're connecting to Google's server, not your ISP's server. This is because speedtest.net has partnership with ISPs so that speedtest.net... Source: over 2 years ago
If fast.com and speedtest.net are fast, then it's not the computer or your internet. Source: over 2 years ago
If you try a speed test with only your PC connected via LAN (visit fast.com), do you get reasonable upload and download speeds? Are the speeds consistent? Source: over 2 years ago
Check my internet connection (seems fine based on fast.com and speedtest.net). Source: over 2 years ago
Fast.com gets 1.6gbps for me. I cant test past that because I dont have internet that fast... Source: over 2 years ago
FWIW fast.com just gave me ~600Mbps, then 1.7Gbps on a second attempt. Wifiman 2131.43Mbps/2189.04Mbps, and speedtest.net with i3D.net server (Newark NJ) was 2194.01/2360.88. Source: over 2 years ago
I'm not being argumentative when I ask this, I really am curious because I thought it was the most reliable one out there, but why is fast.com worthless? It's my go-to, so I need to know if I should switch to something else haha. Source: over 2 years ago
As the title states, I tried fast.com and get 1.6kbs/s while twitch is able to stream the game awards perfectly fine and 1080p, am I being throttled? How can I return the internet to normal? Source: over 2 years ago
The router they gave us is only 2.4Ghz wireles and not 5Ghz (!!!). And while it's "Up to 1Gbe" (of course I expect somewhat less, but my Nuro was still getting like 800Mb-900Mb/sec regularly), there's so much ISP-level throttling that none of our LAN connected devices get more than 200Mbps for most sites (even fast.com!) but sometimes rare spikes on downloads for 800-900 for just a few seconds here and there.... I appreciate the reply. With fast.com I am at 810 Mbps down and 840 Mbps up at the current time. I agree the bandwidth test does not match either my actual connection speed and even lower then what SAB has my downloads coming in at. It is not a connection issue since I can 66 MB/s with NZB on the same files. I am still under my total connection speed but double SABs speed with the same news server setup. Source: over 2 years ago

I just had Shaw internet installed and when I check on fast.com, speedtest.net, google built-in speed test or even speedtest.shaw.ca I am getting around 600mbs download, my current internet plan is 1gig. Source: over 2 years ago
When checking multiple devices for their internet speeds on fast.com while sitting next to the Gateway, my phone consistently is getting in the low-mid 100 Mbps range while the computer is getting 450+ Mbps. Source: over 2 years ago
That is your network or Internet issue, not the laptop. The laptop itself is capable of 1Gb/s, not to mention what you get... Test with fast.com, not speedtest, it's more reliable, manually set numbers of parallel downloads e.g from 8 to 16 (in settings on the page). Source: over 2 years ago
Today when I woke up, I couldnt open discord and twitter on my pc. Arent working in phones either. Everything else is working just fine. fast.com says that my internet is of 0.0 kbps. What do I do? Source: over 2 years ago
I've run several tests on speediest.net and fast.com on my computer today in different places and the results in the spot where ps5 is seems to be the best in my whole apartment besides like literally next to the router with 200mbps download and 60mbps upload. I've also run test with fast.com on my ps5 web browser and the upload is even lower than on ps5 internal internet speed test. I get results of 10 to 40 kbps. Source: over 2 years ago
