Chore sharing app for families and roommates, built on a zero-sum points system: the household total always adds up to zero, so the leaderboard shows who owes the others rather than who is the most diligent.

FairChore is a free web app that splits household chores between family members or roommates, without a chart to maintain and without arguments about who does more.

Its distinctive feature is a zero-sum points system: when someone completes a chore they earn points and the affected members lose some, so the household total always adds up to zero. The leaderboard does not reward the most diligent member, it shows who owes the others, and it rebalances by itself as soon as that person pitches in.

Every chore is worth whatever the household decides it is worth, so a task nobody wants to do can be made to pay more until someone takes it. Affected members are chosen chore by chore, which means a six year old is not counted on cooking dinner but is counted on clearing the table.
