Upgrading the power lines isn't the full answer, certainly some upgrades will be required, but the wires are designed for peak demand. EVs have flexibility, and can mostly be charged in non-peak times, drastically reducing the powerline and power station upgrades required. This flexibility has to be managed, and there are many companies working on this. For example: https://ev.energy/. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
The post title misses the important "without investment and changes in charging habits". Most EVs can already be controlled to set charging preferences to match lower cost, off-peak charging overnight. However, this isn't the full solution as it can create secondary demand peaks. For example, if everyone in one region has an off-peak rate starting at midnight, you will get a step-change in demand at that time.... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
Ev.energy has a solar charging mode that lets you charge w/ excess solar. I would appreciate it if you used my referral code if you decide to sign up: 278842. Source: over 3 years ago
Monta, Electric miles, ev.energy (Pando), EVerest (Pionix) opensource, Ampeco (not cheap): these are just off the top of my head. Source: over 3 years ago
I imagine some of your cost is the need to have an outdoor capable plug. At this point I'd be very tempted to get a charger and get it hardwired (why add a plug that is just another point to fail in the elements). Generally the cables are longer, you can get more data about your charging. I'm getting a rebate from National Grid for charging off hours via ev.energy (in Massachusetts) but it requires certain cars... Source: over 3 years ago
Automated analysis tools: SonarQube, CodeClimate, and Codacy detect code-level debt automatically: cyclomatic complexity, code duplication, dependency staleness, and coverage gaps. These tools supplement but don't replace the architectural and business-logic debt that requires human judgment to identify and document. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
CodeClimate and Codacy can generate before/after metrics for code quality that make the starting and ending states concrete rather than subjective. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
CodeClimate quantifies maintainability so teams canโt hand-wave garbage away. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago

Use tools like SonarQube or CodeClimate to spot the high-risk 20%. Then fix one thing at a time not everything at once. This isnโt Dark Souls. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
