Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing essoflo and Confluence.

What makes your product unique?

essoflo's answer

essoflo treats a flowchart and a document as the same object, not two artifacts you have to sync manually. Every workflow renders simultaneously as a visual diagram, a structured document, and a guided walkthrough โ€” edit any view and the others update automatically. That single source of truth eliminates the "which doc is current?" problem that plagues every other SOP tool.

On top of that, essoflo bakes in the things real operations actually need: true/false branching logic, role assignments on nodes, a company-wide jargon library, tool tagging, and full change history.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

essoflo's answer

Most SOP tools force a tradeoff: docs OR diagrams, never both.

Notion and Confluence give you great documents, but no visual logic or branching. Lucidchart and Miro give you great diagrams, but the documentation lives elsewhere and drifts. Scribe and Tango capture linear workflows well, but can't handle conditional logic or role-based branching. Trainual and Process Street are strong on training but weak on visual comprehension. essoflo is the only tool where the visual, written, and executable versions of your process are the same underlying object โ€” so you author once, and every team member gets the format that works for them. Add AI-assisted authoring, secure sharing, and enterprise-grade SSO/SAML, and you get one platform instead of stitching three together.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

essoflo's answer

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion Backend & database: Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Realtime, Row Level Security) Hosting & deployment: Vercel Source control & CI: GitHub, GitHub Actions AI: integrated LLM APIs for AI-assisted workflow authoring Icons & UI primitives: Lucide, Radix UI

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

essoflo's answer

essoflo is built for operations-heavy teams inside growing companies (10โ€“500 people) where processes need to scale beyond tribal knowledge:

Operations and RevOps teams standardizing repeatable processes Customer support leaders replacing decision-tree spreadsheets Engineering and People teams accelerating onboarding Compliance and quality teams that need auditable, up-to-date SOPs Anyone who has ever inherited a stale Google Doc titled "SOP - FINAL - v3 (updated)" is the target user.

What's the story behind your product?

essoflo's answer

essoflo started from a recurring frustration: every team we worked with had the same broken loop. A process gets written up in a Google Doc, a flowchart lives on a separate Miro board, and neither reflects reality six months later. New hires spend weeks decoding tribal knowledge, and support agents make the same mistakes because the "right way" is buried in a wiki no one reads.

We wanted a tool that made well-designed processes impossible to ignore โ€” visual enough that anyone can see the shape of the work, structured enough that anyone can follow the steps, and connected enough that updating one automatically updates the other. That's essoflo: workflows and SOPs that stay alive.
