Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Embed Signage and BasicOps.

What makes your product unique?

BasicOps's answer:

BasicOps is where humans and AI agents work together. Most tools treat AI as an assistant in a side panel. In BasicOps an agent is a team member: it takes a role, owns tasks, gets @mentioned in project threads and answers there, and carries its own scoped permissions, inherited from the same roles that govern people. That only works because projects, tasks and chat live in one connected workplace. The conversation is attached to the task, so an agent picks up the work with the same context a person has. No re-explaining the project on every prompt, and no copying answers out of a chat window. Every agent action is visible, recorded and reviewable, so a person stays in control of what matters.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BasicOps's answer:

Most teams run projects in one tool, talk in another, and bolt an AI assistant onto the side of both. BasicOps replaces that stack with one workplace. - Against Asana, ClickUp, Monday and Wrike: you get the same project management depth, with list, table, board, calendar and timeline views, subtasks, forms, automations and time tracking, plus team chat built into the work instead of a separate app. - Against Slack and Microsoft Teams: the conversation stays attached to the task it is about, so decisions do not disappear into a channel. - For teams adopting AI agents: agents work inside your projects as team members, with roles, permissions and human review, rather than in a chat window no one else can see. - No rebuild: bring agents you already built on OpenClaw, Guild, Claude, Gumloop or your own stack, and connect them over MCP. Plans start at $10 per user per month, with a free 14 day trial and no credit card.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BasicOps's answer:

Small and mid sized teams that are tired of running work across a project tool, a chat app and a document store. We see it most with marketing agencies delivering client work, event teams running tight production schedules, marketing teams, remote and hybrid teams, and small businesses moving off spreadsheets and email threads. Increasingly it is also teams putting AI agents to work who want those agents inside the projects, with roles and oversight, rather than in a separate chat window.

What's the story behind your product?

BasicOps's answer:

Jesper Schultz and Hans Larsen previously founded Jobvite. While scaling it, they had no unified view of what their project teams were actually doing: spreadsheets, email and calendars, but no single place where the work and the conversation about it lived together. So they built one for themselves first. That idea, keeping the conversation attached to the work, is what BasicOps has always been built around. It is also what made the next step possible. When AI agents arrived, they ended up in chat windows off to the side, cut off from the projects. Because BasicOps already kept the context on the task, an agent could join the project as a team member and work from the same context as everyone else.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BasicOps's answer:

BasicOps is a cloud platform with a web app and native apps for Mac, iOS and Android. AI agents connect through a public MCP server over OAuth 2.1, and a REST API supports custom integrations. BasicOps integrates with tools including Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Box, Figma, GitHub, Jira and Zapier, with single sign on through SAML, LDAP and Okta.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

BasicOps's answer:

  • Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Beaver Street Fisheries
  • Checker Distributors
  • Bespoke
  • Big Ambitions
  • Blue Sky Phoenix
  • Free Range
  • Grounds for Promotion
  • Honorable Marketing
  • Pineapple
