Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Echoryte and SpeakNotes.

What makes your product unique?

Echoryte's answer

Echoryte keeps the recording, transcript, and AI output connected in one source-first workflow. Every word can be tied to its timestamp, users can listen and edit in sync, manage speakers, search and replace text, translate the transcript, and export to TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT, VTT, CSV, or JSON. Its AI desk creates summaries, chapters, action items, show notes, and transcript-grounded answers with clickable time references. Behind the scenes, capability-aware routing can select between speech engines based on the language and requested features instead of treating one model as suitable for every recording.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Echoryte's answer

Echoryte is a strong fit when the work starts with an existing audio or video file rather than a live meeting bot. It combines resumable uploads, word-level timing, speaker separation, synchronized editing, AI notes, translation, and professional export formats in one private workspace. Long-running jobs continue in the background, the current transcript remains available while a replacement is processed, and AI drafts are stored separately so they never overwrite the user's words. A verified account also receives 400 free credits with no card required.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Echoryte's answer

Echoryte is designed primarily for podcasters and video creators who need transcripts, subtitles, show notes, and searchable source material; journalists and researchers working with recorded interviews; and students and educators turning lectures or lessons into editable notes. It also suits individual professionals who process existing recordings asynchronously and care about precise time references, speaker labels, and flexible exports.

What's the story behind your product?

Echoryte's answer

Echoryte grew from a simple observation: transcription is rarely the final job. After speech becomes text, people still need to verify quotes against the recording, correct names, identify speakers, create subtitles, find key moments, and turn long material into useful notes. The product was therefore built around a source-first workflow in which the recording stays beside editable, timestamped text and AI output remains traceable to the transcript. The goal is to make recorded knowledge genuinely usable without pretending that every language or model has identical capabilities.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Echoryte's answer

Echoryte is built with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. PostgreSQL and Drizzle ORM provide the primary data layer, with Better Auth for email and Google authentication. Background media, transcription, translation, AI, export, billing, and maintenance jobs run through BullMQ and Redis. Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded media and generated artifacts. Speech recognition is routed through Deepgram and AssemblyAI, while Google Gemini is used through the Vercel AI SDK for AI and translation workflows. Stripe handles subscriptions; the web application runs on Vercel and workers run on Railway.
