The native Apple Sidecar monitor extension thing will only work within range of the host computer ("both devices must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other and have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on "). There's third party apps that kind of do what Sidecar does for older iPads AND Android devices. I like Duet duetdisplay.com - again, wired/wireless distance limitations restrict "portability". What I've done instead is, for any recurring event that isn't really due on that date, like "book a haircut" or "fertilize roses", I add an event on a Google Calendar called "Tickler" with the desired recurrence. I then have an IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/explore) integration that creates a Todoist event in my inbox whenever that event shows up on my calendar.
