I'm sure the folks at Zed know what they're doing, but this is already possible in multiple editors / IDEs. I'm excited to see how Zed innovates in this space. Unfortunately, as of 2022 there isn't a free tool as good as Live Share that can be outside of VS Code. Potential options are Duckly, Saros for Eclipse or IntelliJ, and tmux and ssh for vi or emacs. - Source: dev.to / over 4 years ago
