Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Diffyn and Hey Val.

What makes your product unique?

Diffyn's answer

Addresses workflow and change management on LLM prompts, provide teams with traceability and visualization of tests across multiple models, provide deeper understading into efficiency of these prompts.

Hey Val's answer:

Hey Val tracks one thing — saturated fat, the dietary lever with the most consistent effect on LDL cholesterol — instead of burying you in calories, macros, and food databases. You photograph a meal, get an instant estimate, and see the day's total against the AHA's recommended daily target. It's built for the calm moment after a doctor flags your cholesterol, not for dieting or weight loss. No streaks, no shame, no color-coded scoring — just a quiet, honest record and a weekly trend you can take to your next appointment.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Diffyn's answer

Diffyn is the platform that specializes on both change management and multi-model analysis.

Hey Val's answer:

Most food trackers are built around calorie counting and weight loss. Hey Val isn't a diet app. It focuses on the single number that most consistently moves your cholesterol — saturated fat — and shows your weekly trend so you can walk into your next doctor's visit with a real record. There's no streak to maintain, no green-yellow-red scoring, and no pressure to optimize. If you care more about your heart than your waistline, and you want calm, honest information instead of another diet, Hey Val speaks your language.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Diffyn's answer

React, Next.js, POSTGRESQL

Hey Val's answer:

Mobile App (iOS — what's live on the App Store):

-React Native 0.81.5 + Expo SDK 54 (Expo Router for navigation) -React 19.1 + TypeScript -Supabase — backend/database/auth (@supabase/supabase-js) -Expo Image Picker + Image Manipulator — photo capture for meal analysis -Sentry — crash reporting -React Native Reanimated — animations

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Diffyn's answer

Professionals incorporating LLMs or AI tools in their workflow and wants to keep track of changes and test their prompts.

Hey Val's answer:

Adults — often 35 and up — who've just had a cholesterol result flagged by their doctor and want to do something steady about it without joining a diet program or picking a side in the statin-versus-steak debate. They tend to be gender-balanced, preventive-minded, and a little anxious about a number they can't see or feel. People who'd rather understand their food than fear it, and who want calm, honest information instead of panic or hype.

What's the story behind your product?

Diffyn's answer

I started working on Diffyn when I notice that prompting has become an essential part of work across many industries. While there are version control platofrms like github, they are not designed for just prompt management are can be overkill such applications, it is also not integrated natively with various LLMs and relevant tools for users to validate ideas and visualise results properly.

Hey Val's answer:

Hey Val began with a familiar moment: a doctor says your cholesterol is high and to recheck in three months — and the internet immediately splits into two shouting camps, one telling you to just take the pill and stop asking questions, the other telling you to eat butter and that your doctor is wrong. Neither is a tribe most people signed up for. Hey Val was built for the calm middle: track saturated fat, the dietary lever with the most consistent effect on LDL, watch the trend over weeks, and leave the rest to you and your doctor. Quiet, honest, and free of the optimization theater.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Hey Val's answer:

  • Early adopters managing high cholesterol
  • People with a family history of heart disease
